    REVIEW: another O-Like 400mW Blu-Ray!

If you want a 405 to play with without spending a bunch of money, look on Ebay and Amazon. The 5mw ones are almost always pretty far over spec. The $8 ones I got off Amazon were close to 20mw, and for $8, its a good buy for a first 405. They are still impressive, and fun.

Can anyone tell me what this is or how to make it work

Yep, everyday ole $3 safety glasses. Get clear ones though, not any of the tinted ones. Yes, they are refillable. Its more expensive than buying a new tube, WAY more expensive. Unless you had a really nice expensive tube. not sure if a refiller would do that tube anyway. Best to hook it...

    REVIEW: another O-Like 400mW Blu-Ray!

Its not the tighter beam that makes it show up purple. A 405nm laser is a VIOLET laser, verging on ULTRA VIOLET, regardless if the beam is 1mm, or 100ft ,which has the ability to fluoresce certain materials. The fluorescence in certain white objects make it appear blue. If you want a blue...

Heads Up.. PayPal/eBay the F%$king GREEDY PIGS.....

Actually, I would bet the percentage to scamming buyers, and scamming sellers is about 50/50. I got hit by a guy once, that within the 60 seconds that PayPal allowed him to file a dispute he did so. WAY before the item could possibly arrive in Croatia, even if I sent it overnight. I think he...

Can anyone tell me what this is or how to make it work

A pair of normal decent quality safety goggles is typically good enough for CO2. They actually almost completely block CO2 emission wavelengths. A prolonged direct exposure would melt through them however. You can power it with a neon sign transformer , however it will have diminished life...

    REVIEW: another O-Like 400mW Blu-Ray!

You really cant compare that laser to the one in this thread. Its a 445nm laser as opposed to the 405nm in this thread. Very different beasts!! Is it better? Yes, if you want true blue, and a VERY visible beam, and much more power. No, if you want a VIOLET 405nm laser like in this thread.

Can anyone tell me what this is or how to make it work

The first one is definitely a CO2, about the 30-40W range as suggested. The second one, with the green trumpets, may not be a CO2. However, it could be!!

[Pic Heavy] Lazerer's 650nm and 638nm Rifle lasers

Most of the time, the person you would talk to, knows less about the product than you do. What they are telling you, they are reading right off the product listing, anything more than that is usually just BS.

Heads Up.. PayPal/eBay the F%$king GREEDY PIGS.....

Laserbee, your situation is better than mine. I have over $500 in my account that I cannot access because Paypal wants "Supplier Documentation" and "Proof of Purchase" on items that I made MYSELF on my OWN machines with my OWN material on my OWN time. I supplied them with all the info I could...

[Pic Heavy] Lazerer's 650nm and 638nm Rifle lasers

I know this is a kinda old thread, but you are absolutely right!!! They are selling the same lasers everybody else does, at higher prices to make them appear better. It called "False Economy" Also, just because you bought a cert with your laser, doesnt mean that the laser they sent you is the...

NO LONGER AVAILABLE 40Watt CO2 System, with PSU, Optics

I have a 40W sealed CO2 tube (Chinese), a Universal Voltronics power supply that powers this tube very nicely (its actually for a much larger tube), 2 mirror mounts, 2 NEW silicon total reflector mirrors , and one NEW GaAs focusing lens. The only has a few hours on it. I had a cutter and this...

Hey RHD, any update on the crystal set?

Bad 3 element glass lens from Survival Laser

Yes, indeed!!!! In fact, I did!!! Im sure Survival can confirm that. Anyway, this thread was in no way to implicate Survival for any wrong doing. It was merely to indicate that some of the anomalous output seen on 445nm diodes may be from a bad lens. However, indicating where the component...

Bad 3 element glass lens from Survival Laser

Absolutely, not blaming anyone for anything. He didnt make the lens.

Bad 3 element glass lens from Survival Laser

I just got a 445nm AR coated 3 element lens from Survival Laser. Got my laser all assembled and noticed some non-typical anomalies in the output. It appeared to be a very dirty lens, however upon inspection it was spotless. The output actually appears somewhat if its going through a...

Advice on building 4 x 445nm continuous duty line generating lasers

Olike (as well as some others) sell a decent "lab style" 1W 445nm module. It may be your best bet for the display project. I may ultimately be cheaper in the long run to just buy ready made modules for this type of project. O-like also sells the glass cylindrical lenses for generating lines...

    Unidentified Laser

That laser style is sold by many, under many different models/brands. I dont think the real manufacturer is known for sure. I can guarantee its probably less than 100mw.

    Rayfoss Laser Diodes?

If what you bought is just a diode, it will not be green. Do you mean a green module? Post a link to what you bought.

New diode in Green Laser Module

I doubt the diode will screw out like in the pic. Most diodes are pressed in. The only modules I have seen with the threaded diode retainer is the old style NewWish modules. It will have to be pressed out, and the new one pressed in.
