Just buy one of THESE I have 5 of those now, all of them are WAYYY over spec. The lowest powered one I got is ~50mw. However, some of that power is IR as there is no IR filter. Doesnt really matter!! Plus they ship from the US on the cheap. EDIT: As a matter of fact, I just bought 2 more!!!!

The way I see it is, if you want a laser that will last, dont pot mod. However, if you need more power for a short period of time for some experimentation, go for it, it isnt going to cost you much. With the cost of greenies so low nowadays whats it really matter. Just buy two, pot mod one...

Why couldnt you just use one of the diffraction lenses that produce a single row of beams/dots instead of galvos or motors. This would simplify the system as well as make it much cheaper. I have one and experimented with it and a web cam with Roborealm with promising results. Just need to work...

Just an indication that they know absolutely NOTHING about the product they are selling. I bet if you emailed and asked if the Reke-500 was a handheld they would say "Yes, it hold very happy your hand, ready for working hand all day"
