    ishow with windows 7

Ok, I have been working on this exhaustively for the past day to no avail. I can now get the driver to install properly. I can get it to display in device manager properly and report that it is connected an working properly. However, I cannot get the Ishow apllication itself to detect that...

    ishow with windows 7

Yes, you will still need to run in a VM. Its hanging because USB needs to be polled regularly to keep alive. If for some reason the polling slows down, or hangs, it will drop the connection.

Laser fire sale Large images PRICE DROP

Re: Laser fire sale Large images OK, thanks!!

    Laserpointerpro?

Hmmm, yea, it could be a bad switch then. It happens even on more expensive lasers. That shouldnt cause a bad beam though, when you get a beam. The ugly beam may be something on the lens.

    Laserpointerpro?

If the beam isnt clean, the whole module is loose. Those have a press in module however, so it must have been a loose fit to begin with. If the driver was loose fro the diode, you would see intermittent operation as opposed to an ugly beam, so its got to be a loose module. It is still...

Laser fire sale Large images PRICE DROP

Re: Laser fire sale Large images Are you referring to the galvos and amps as "projector" ? If not, I would still like to get a hold of those. If so, oh well!!

    Laserpointerpro?

That should be an easy fix. Which one do you have?

Want to trade: Red Lazerer Rifle 200 mW *sold*

Re: Want to trade: Red Laser Rifle for Green... Ha, yea, reminds me of my first HeNe build about 20 years ago. Built with PVC to look like a pistol. Much like the plans that Info Unlimited sells. Thats where I stole the idea from anyway!!

Want to trade: Red Lazerer Rifle 200 mW *sold*

Re: Want to trade: Red Laser Rifle for Green... No, no filter. However, there is maybe only 10% coming from IR (doesnt really matter all that much). The module is from one of THESE Same as the DX/Olike 200mw module, however this one only does 80-90mw. So I used the host it came from in a...

Want to trade: Red Lazerer Rifle 200 mW *sold*

Re: Want to trade: Red Laser Rifle for Green... Here are the pics!! The beam shot is with NO fog, just normal dusty air. I got the laser in the shot so you know its this laser creating the beam. Also a Laserbee reading showing ~90mw. This is on a 100% charged battery. I will say its 80+mw...

    Laserpointerpro?

I would bet you did not get exactly what you ordered. It may look the same, but I would be sure the power is way off. What did you order?

    ishow with windows 7

You dont need a new DAC if you have the iShow DAC. It works quite well with the pasta software. If you have trouble with USB hangs in a VM, just unplug a re-plug the DAC, it should pick back up.

Question for all you DIY LPMers

A black surface does indeed radiate heat better!!!! I think the main reason the pros anodize black, is it simply looks more professional, and keeps the parts looking good while they sit on the shelf. While they may claim its to radiate heat better (which it does) to make it sound more...

    ishow with windows 7

Its not working 100% yet. I have simply added in lines in the ini file to allow Win7 to see it as a viable driver. The actual driver itself is Win7 compatible, for the most part (most drivers are), Win7 just doesnt find the information in the ini to allow it to install. This method has...

    Question about Galvo Speed?

I really wasnt looking for creativity and artistic value tips, I can handle that, rather some suggestions, based on a set of specs on a particular set of galvos, what are a basic set of rules, i.e. max point count per frame, scan angle, etc. to be used to get the best out of a projector...

Question for all you DIY LPMers

Because the detecting face of the TEC is in the same ambient light/temp conditions it will be the same temp, so it doesnt matter as long as this condition is true while at zero, regardless of ambient light amount or temp. The heat sink it there to provide enough differential only when a laser...

Question for all you DIY LPMers

Yes, that is correct as well. However, bare aluminum will not be oxide free, quite the contrary. Aluminum oxidizes VERY fast. Even if its undetectable by the eye, it is there. However true that a heavier layer will affect thermal transfer greater. This is simply a non issue though. If you...

    Question about Galvo Speed?

Re: Complex answer about why the ilda pattern exists. Wow, didnt expect all that, and I appreciate it. However, it really doesnt translate well in to how someone can take a basic set of specs (assuming the specs are accurate) and create a frames that perform well. While I do understand...

Question for all you DIY LPMers

Yes, thats what I was saying!! However, its not due to relatively low power lasers, its due to the nature of a TEC being used in this manner. However, I was also implying , even with 2 identical heatsinks, you will not be able to measure the difference with that meter, and I doubt a multi...
