The pins in the back are a safety interlock loop and a thermal switch sensor, they are unimportant for the laser to run if you make sure you have water cooling the tube. If you intend to run the laser untended for a while, by all means use them.

Make sure it has water cooling the tube or the tube will overheat and die. Apply 27.1mhz with a CB linear amp at 150 to 250W. Watch it burn stuff. The OC is fine, it was protected by a window for the burning demos.

It's not a large number of people that are complaining, just a few very vocal ones and people who love to bash. Most of the people complaining were rival ebay sellers who got sick of me selling things for more than they were.
