    Basic Buck Driver Help

What exactly do you mean by 'above the cathode side of the diode'? At the anode? Also, all the circuit diagrams I can find for this IC does not have the resistor in series with the laser diodes, and instead has a junction where one branch has the resistor going to ground and the other branch...

    Basic Buck Driver Help

The datasheet says that the output current is set by connecting a sensing resistor to the feedback pin. How is the diagram for a voltage regulator? It seems to me that in the application circuit that the current is set through the resistor labeled RD. Or are you referring to my schematic?

    Basic Buck Driver Help

Hello! I'm trying my hand at designing a simple buck driver, and this is what I have so far: I'm confused/looking for advice on a couple things (or anything you notice I did wrong, I'm still a noob so any advice is appreciated) if anyone would be willing to lend some time. Thank you all in...

How to tell when a laser is properly focused?

I have no intention of using my laser pointers without safety glasses— it may be easier to focus and not cause eye damage by viewing the spot under good conditions, but as Encap mentioned, all it takes is one accident. I'll look into picking up a pair of OD4 glasses so I can see a small bit of...

How to tell when a laser is properly focused?

On the wood would I be looking for burn marks? Also, what do you mean by 'focused in & out' and 'fix focus'? Thank you for the reply!

How to tell when a laser is properly focused?

I thought the point of the goggles were to completely block out the light? My glasses are at OD7 which is much more than I needed for a 200mW laser but I thought I shouldn't see anything from the laser through them. Point noted about the plastic lens. Thanks for the advice!

How to tell when a laser is properly focused?

Hello! New here and reasonably new to the hobby. I am playing around with some LPC826 diodes in a mount with an adjustable plastic lens, but I'm having trouble telling when they are focused how I want them to be / if the lens or diode are a couple degrees off. I'm using my smartphone camera to...
