    The Zeus are here!

I thought that for a multi KW laser, it was taking much too long to burn through that cd case. Will be having strong words with the seller about this, the cheeky bastard! 😂

    The Zeus are here!

Yep, so far I’m happy, let’s see what an LPM says. Do Post pictures and your impressions when you get yours and maybe we can compare notes with the Zeus. That was my first ever back door deal on ebay, so I’m chuffed it has turned out ok. And it is Hallowing... We must have a bit of suspense! 😂

    The Zeus are here!

Thank you Cowboy. Most of what you just said has gone like... whoosh! But, I am willing to learn and I am sure with time, and help from you guys, it won’t be too long before I make an attempt at modifying this pair. I’m glad de diodes he has used are of reasonable quality as the price was...

    The Zeus are here!

I’ve got a few beers in the fridge so, I decided to stay and play with the new toys. The 445nm laser burns through a cd case in about a second at close focused quarters of about 10cm. The green one takes about 10-15 sec with a much smaller diameter hole at five or take the same distance...

    The Zeus are here!

oh crap....There goes my intentions of lighting fireworks at a distance. ‘The 520nm seems a lot better, I shall post a few shots later on in the evening. I’m going Out for a few brews. Thank you guys. Cheers!

    The Zeus are here!

Thank you paul, I should take your advice in consideration. ‘Below shots of the 445nm. Divergence seems pretty bad, that’s about 2.5/3 meters with the lens fully screwed in. It is a line of about 2.5/3cm. Is that normal? Cheers.

    The Zeus are here!

Thank you BowTie. They sure look the part. I’m curious myself to find out how much power they pump out. The batteries are the chinese 4000mah cheapo stuff, and I have no clue how much current can be drained out of them. I shall get a couple of branded pairs with at least 40A drain and compare...

    The Zeus are here!

I’ve got a couple of EP’s pairs. These cover from 190 to 540nm visible and from 800 to 1700nm infrared. They should do the job. I need some one who has a LMP to help me measure the power. Happy to drive a couple of hours to meet up.

    The Zeus are here!

So, they did arrive as agreed. First impressions, the host is solid nicely balanced and pleasant to look at. On first test the 445nm looks bright, I can’t see the beam in daylight and, divergence is pretty awful even at 2 meters. Not sure of power as I don’t have a LPM (perhaps some one close...

Well... we kinda do, but that’s a conversation we best have in the political forum if we don’t want a slap in the hand. 😉

    hello... Again

I was not too bad, as you can see I had an awesome instructor. It’s just that my kids became my most expensive hobby... I couldn’t afford anything else :ROFLMAO:

    hello... Again

Impressive collection you have there! One of my friends built a Mustang P51 from scratch out of balsa wood, I think it took him like 2 years in total. Sadly, he crashed it on its maiden flight. A servo fail was the culprit part and he was properly gutted. Yeah, helis are expensive as hell, and...

    hello... Again

For the planes, a mixture of both, the helicopters were all self built hobby grade kits from shops. All nitro engines, and capable of serious damage and injuries if improperly flown so, certainly no toys. I did mostly acrobatics with the planes and 3D flying with the helicopters. Dave Fisher...
