My recommendation is do not preorder mining hardware, ever. Far too many people have gotten boned by ASIC companies that have delivered in the past, let alone a company that is brand new on the scene.

Not a bad deal for a turn-key mains powered PSU. If you can't find any specs on the PSU you could measure the drive current via a shunt resistor but voltage would be a bit harder to measure due to the starting circuitry.

CCFL driver might be ok for testing to see if a tube is still gas-intact but I wouldn't run it for any length of time. CCFL inverters output AC and will quickly damage the tube if allowed to run for a significant amount of time. HeNes need DC and regulated current for best performance and lifetime

Scrypt coins are heading towards the toilet, Gridseed's scrypt ASICs are already flooding the market (ROI is terrible though so I haven't bought any) but people continue to buy them. Maybe once they make a decent size miner with the Gridseed chips I would consider it. The round 5 chip miners...

CGminer and BFGminer both use OpenCL, which will work with Nvidia cards although probably lower performance than the CUDAminer.

GUIminer is just a user interface that connects to other mining software for better ease of use. If you don't have the actual miner program in the folder, it may produce strange errors or none at all. You can try BFGminer or an old version of CGminer that has scrypt support and see what errors...
