I received the new-style host form Dave today. I will have to make new heatsinks for them, no doubt. However, (the good news), these heatsinks will not present any more challenge to hold in the head than the original DJR did. With the exception of the Second generation Full-Body heatsinks...

Just in case anyone is interested, I see these guys still list the DJR-host as available. Of course, I would have no idea how to tell which version you would get. I have ordered from them a couple of times in the past with no problems. Dorcy Super 1 Watt LED 414262 Barry

    ~.:xSpazyKlown0 here:.~

Welcome to LPF. The mAH refers to thier capacity, the larger the number, the longer it will last on a charge. Most cheap Lithiums from China are only half of thier stated capacity. Check out the Buy/Sell/Trade, I am pretty sure Larry is selling some really nice 2400mAH 18650s from Japan...

I have no problem giving someone else a "classic", I am fine with one of the newer designs. I may just use it for a flashlight, lol. Barry

Dave, Dave, Dave, It appears you have violated Niko's suggested "mod-rule" of "3 or more smilies in one message gets you permabanned", lol.:na::shhh::crackup: Barry

A set-screw through the host-head and into the heatsink would work, but it would be my last resort. If this is what we have to do, I could do it for everyone. Lets find out what Mark can do about getting us the classics, in the meantime, the host is on it's way to me, so I can see what we are...

Wow, that is customer service! Thanks for the attention! Just curious, do they joke around the office about the Laser-Nuts using your little torch? I remember a couple of years ago hearing rumors that these models were being discontinued. I find myself wondering how many have been made into...

As soon as I get the new host, I will begin a design for them. I will have to be creative, but I am sure we will come up with a great solution. Worry not :) Barry

Dave, PM sent. There is still a groove where the lens was, right? Is it similar to the groove in the original DJR-head? It is tough to tell without seeing it closely, but I am guessing I can make a stepped heatsink which will load from the front and maybe we can use an O-ring or snap-ring in the...

    Post a picture of yourself!

This was a huge-game. With 300+ people on each side of a scrimage-line, it can get a little stale in action, just a lot of shooting. My brother and I find it sport to run straight into the opposing-team, like John Wayne. That picture was taken after only the first 20mins.

That is my "BIG" brother in the picture, he got all the meat as kids, lol My banner is still there, I was just keeping it on the "DL" for that post.

The Slivers are smaller in diameter than the DJR heatsink, by .100". The heatsinks on thier way to Dave are .795" OD, they should have been there by now, must be the holiday post slow-down. BTW, the name is a reference to thier size and not color. It seams if someone reads it as "Silver" the...

    LCC vs LOC-815

I have only seen the LCC in the GGW-drives, I am not sure what speed they are rated for DVD-burning though. 18x and below are short closed cans. I just built a LCC using a Flex set to 410mA and it is putting out 290mW through a Merideth-"red" lens. Seams like a little less than the same set-up...

    Dorcy Jr and Flexdrive

With a BR-build, it will not be the battery that is the problem. As the current increases, so does the voltage that the diode needs to run at that amp-setting. The Flex-Drive can only boost to just under 6V, so I am thinking most have found the FD to be good for about 360mA @5.8V. Your...

    Dorcy Jr and Flexdrive

If you are using a Long-die DVD diode, (red), 412mA will be fine. For a BR, only the 8x and better could survive such a setting, not to mention the FD can only boost to the required voltage until about 390mA IIRC, for a BR-diodes higher voltage forward. I am guessing that you are building a red...
