    My Sitepoint article is up!

Hey people, My first sitepoint article is up, it's dealing with a specific problem regarding game logic programming, using Unity game engine and C# programming language. Saving Data Between Scenes in Unity Let me know what you think, writing style, flow of the text, is it understandable and...

    Resoldering wires on driver

Sounds like bit of an overkill to me. I mean, just melt the solder with the iron, and just push the wire through the melted solder. Then, with wire through, grab it in helping hands or whatever, and just re-do the solder joint with fresh solder and flux. No need to "remove" it really.

Re: Drone Attack Laser The drone/quadcopter point is technically accurate, but where I'm coming from, "Drone" just simply sounds much cooler. Though I never thought about it the way you say. Hexacopter sounds cool as heck :p +rep for good info. I just can't swallow the "They're spying on...

7 Watt hand held beam shot picture.

Spirits, I need to get myself one of those diodes. I never cared much for beam specs, only power output. And that looks like the mother of all power outputs :D How does the beam visibility compare to say... 2W 445nm, if you got any to compare it to? Also, beamshot if freaking AWESOME. It's a...

Need advice. New to this forum.

Your best source for diode, drivers, modules and lenses (in whatever order) is DTR's shop: https://sites.google.com/site/dtrlpf/ DTR is a member here as well, you can contact him if you need anything else.

Lasers in the sky!?! (google earth sky).

First and third one appear to be either plance trails or even comets bassing by. Long exposure photograhs during meteor showers appear similar to that. No idea about second image though. Looks to be some heavy lens flaring (from what?) or just an internal sensor glitch/error. Looks interesting...

    532nm (Green) Laser 30mw to 50mw below 20 USD

Wow, sounds like an interesting difference between modules. Can you snap a photo of the IR output from your green laser? Also, there ARE post SHG optics in those cheap pens. Basically their components are: Diode -> Crystal (both crystals glues into one) -> Expander -> Collimator Expander and...

    532nm (Green) Laser 30mw to 50mw below 20 USD

Because they're not "same beam". It's not just one beam of light with a fraction values of green or IR. IR comes from the diode, everything that's not converted by the crystal, and a LOT is not converted. It passes through the crystal, and two optics behind it, while green is generated by the...

    532nm (Green) Laser 30mw to 50mw below 20 USD

Actually, IR output from pen modules is horribly uncollimated (best seen if you can filter out the green and use phone camera or other). So if you had 200mW green laser but only 5mW of that was IR, it still wouldn't light any matches. IR output diverges horribly and actually doesn't pose much...

    532nm (Green) Laser 30mw to 50mw below 20 USD

Any particular reason why you cannot type "50mW green laser" into eBay search? That up there is literally second search result from "green laser". Like I said, I dunno, I don't think you can sell Class III and up lasers on eBay that's why they say 5mW, BUT they say "burning" as well. Which...

    532nm (Green) Laser 30mw to 50mw below 20 USD

Your best bet for that price range is eBay. Green Laser Pointer Pen 5mW 532nm Burning Lazer Zoomable Visible Beam Charger MT | eBay Just grab that. Yes it technically says 5mW, but I believe that's because of some eBay/Paypal regulation nonsense. It actually outputs pretty much guaranteed...

New to Lasers - Low mW Project

There ARE 405nm diodes, it's a standard Bluray wavelength. You can get those in higher powers, up to 500mW (classic 12x BR diode, don't know the model number), which are still "single-mode", they have the best beam profiles out of all visible diode lasers as far as I know. Even a standard...

    Honey I Shrunk the host

Geez. Not much of a host, now is it? Largest Argon Ion and CO2 gas laser installations are somewhere around there, though of course without all the fancy "just put it there because it looks cool" decorations on the outside.

Which model do you have? If it makes you feel any better, my gaming machine is still going by GTX 560 :D I picked up a Galaxy edition, 2GB memory model a while back. Still works good. I'd very much like to upgrade to GTX 960 by the end of next year, before next Mass Effect is out.

Untrue, SLI is a bad idea because almost no game ever works quite reliably with it. Adding a second GPU if the same type isn't automatically 2x performance. It's 100% more money for maybe 50% performance in 30% of games. A new single GPU is always the best solution. A modern GTX 960 costs...

Motherboard. ROG Maximus looks nice visually but honestly there really isn't much difference between that, and my ASRock Pro4 motherboard, except mine is less than 1/2 that price. Nobody needs 3x GPU slots, ever. SLI/CrossFire is always a bad idea, and 4K gaming isn't even technically...

ME3 has co-op multiplayer but the entire trilogy is very single-player centered, it's a story driven experience. Damn, you got good hardware, though I don't agree with MBO choice.

To be fair, Mass Effect games are developed by BioWare, EA is only their publisher. Well, if you wanna call yourself a pro gamer, you'd better go through the Mass Effect trilogy :) Personally, those are the best games, ever. I am a huge ME fan and would recommend them to anybody looking to...

Well hi :D This forum can use more gamers. I had a custom tag under my name, "N7 Machinist" instead of "Class 4 laser", and there ain't a soul here that digs the reference as far as I've seen. I hope you do? If you're interested in computer science, do you do some programming? Lastly, can we...
