Matt; That setup is fine. Just make sure the holes on the metal can don't short out the wires going to the cell, or it will be glowing RED HOT. LarryDFW

Matt; If you have checked the charger AND the cells come out @ 4.1 VDC, then the charger should be fine to charge the 18650 cells. On a 1st charge, I would charge 3-4 hours and check the voltage. It should be 4.2 VDC for full charge. 4.25 VDC is the MAX fior this cell. Everybody working...

Slyoung is correct. This is the basic pattern that you will normally use to align all three laser beams. Anybody who uses the projector frequently should be familiar with this screen, and adjusting the mirror mounts with hex keys to adjust the beam. LarryDFW

I agree. I have sold hundreds of aspheric lenses in the past. I used an ultrasonic cleaner with acetone, and finished with a microfiber cloth. The AR coating on a good lens is durable. LarryDFW

Grant; I have used the the LM1117 regulator for Reds with no problem (Dropout ~1.1 VDC). Just use a quality name-brand 18650 cell & you will be fine. LarryDFW

The original problem with lithium cells in a cargo aircraft, was due to improper packaging of loose cells. The Chinese disguised cell shipments for a while, but now they have to sign off that lithium ion cells ARE NOT in their shipments or they can face jail time. Shipments are also X-Rayed...

We use a soldered button on our cells. It is shorter in overall length . . . and has lower resistance for better power. LarryDFW

I don't buy cells from CN Quality. The shipping charges are too high. Since you adapted the existing 18650 cell you had to fit your laser . . . I refunded your order. I hope it IS a name-brand cell ! Larry

If the cell is a real Sanyo 2600mah, it will work OK in your laser. Voltage is the same on all lithium cobalt cells @4.2 VDC (full charge). The 3400mah Panasonic I sell will give you longer run times between charging. It has ~ 31% more capacity. They are available with Flat or Button-Top...

lasermanXYZ; Green pen-style lasers need 3 VDC @ up to 1/2 amp. My advice is to buy a larger pen that takes a single #18650 cell. They cost slightly more, but you will save far more than the difference in price, by using a quality rechargeable cell. With larger and longer lasting 18650...

I agree with BShanahan . . . The low IR power cells should be cooler than regular cells. They might be charging faster with a given constant voltage being applied. That is one advantage of the NCR18650PF cells. How many amps are you charging at ? LarryDFW
