Where dafuq to buy batteries!! "Exclamation" "Exclamation" "Exclamation"

Re: Where dafuq to buy batteries!! "Exclamation" "Exclamation" "Exclamation" The X-Drive does require two lithium cells. I use the same 9mm 445 diode with a boost driver ( like X-Boost) and use a single 18650 cell. LarryDFW

Where dafuq to buy batteries!! "Exclamation" "Exclamation" "Exclamation"

Re: Where dafuq to buy batteries!! "Exclamation" "Exclamation" "Exclamation" Two 18350 cells have much less capacity . . . than one 18650 cell. Two 700mah = 1400 mah x V = power vs. One 3200mah LG cell = 3200mah x V = power Each requires a driver for ~85% efficiency. LarryDFW

    IMREN 18650 High Drain Battery

I have the NCR18650PF Panny cells. The LG cell is a different LG hi-output current cell with more capacity. It has a higher voltage output, at the 6 amp current draw you are looking for. And it will maintain that level longer. LarryDFW

    IMREN 18650 High Drain Battery

The new leaders for high current drain #18650 cells . . . are new Nickel/Manganese chemistry. Panasonic has their 10 amp current drain cells @ true 2900mah (4.2 VDC charging) (Link Below) LG has an even better cell, but it requires a 4.35 VDC charger. I have both of these cells @ $11.95 ppd...

Panasonic 3400mah 18650 Cell Now Available!

I have added a analyzing charger that checks cell quality for $36.95. It charges @ 1 amp per channel. The I2 is only 500 ma per channel. http://laserpointerforums.com/f67/charger-analyses-cell-quality-90462.html LarryDFW

    Can i use PC Psu?

No, the 12 VDC power is only a fraction of the 500 Watt total. The supply should have an amp rating for the 12 VDC portion. LarryDFW

    18650 Laptop Battery Pulling?

I have recycled many laptop packs. Just a couple of precautions with laptop battery packs: 1. Used packs will usually be 3-4 years old before they are available. Lithium cells usually have a life of ~ 5 years with charging cycles. These older designs will usually have cell capacities of...

The NICHIA NDV 4542 diode in a laser CNC

Looked at your instructable. Good job. Liked the HD Rack & Pinion. Glad you put a fan on it, because the smoke will end up on the laser lens if you don't. LarryDFW

Buck drivers with a single battery for low power

At a power level of 300mw, it is quite safe as long as you have a reasonable heat sink on the LD. My 445 LD operates @ 600mw in a direct drive configuration with a 4.35 VDC lithium cell. http://laserpointerforums.com/f65/direct-drive-445-host-52918.html LarryDFW

    405nm driver spring

The spring is indeed, the positive contact for the battery ( or power supply). Negative battery is common with negative diode terminal. LarryDFW

How healthy are your batteries? (How to measure internal resistance)

From the resistance of the protection circuits in the cells I have seen . . . that would add ~50 milliohms to the numbers above. LarryDFW

Ultrafire fw-501b or 502b extension tube?

Walt; I have had the same problem looking for a dual 18650 host. I solved it with a C8 host with extension tube. I think the C8 is an improvement for my usage. LarryDFW

Microphotography vol. 2: Mitsubishi 660nm Red laser diode

Thanks for the Great work ! You have to shoot a few with the laser operating at very lowest level. It will show the actual laser emission point. It could be shot from above to protect the imager. LarryDFW

The NICHIA NDV 4542 diode in a laser CNC

John1A; Forget the 200 mw LD. You need more power and reliability. I would look at the 9mm 445 LD from DTR (~$70) or the NDB7A75 for even higher power @ $210. With decent optics, they will be a good match. Properly designed PWM is fine for any 445 or 405nm LD. I am also looking at some...

Whats happen if I use this battery with this?

If it is a good quality cell and it fits, then it should work. LarryDFW

    Quality #18650 Batteries & Charger

The specs would seem to indicate a Panasonic cell. If so, @ $21, it is still too expensive for a 3400mah cell with a protection FET. LarryDFW

    Basic Electronics Questions. AMC7135

Just use this driver after removing two of the 4135 chips. Check the pinout, but it is for a red LD. http://laserpointerforums.com/f67/open-source-iron4d-driver-single-cell-diode-mits-driver-87677.html Be careful with the Red LD's they are sensitive to input surges. LarryDFW

Terry; It would be good to meet you. I work @ 1314 Viceroy Dr. in Dallas. It is off Hwy 183, just east of Irving. Hours are 9-5 M-F. If you wanted to pick up the 18650 cells, I would sell them for $10.95 each. Or I can ship them to you prepaid for $11.95 each @ 18650 Batteries & Chargers...
