(Video Added)The worlds most powerful handheld 445. 3.5W 2 LD array

Re: The worlds most powerful handheld 445..... 3.5W 2 LD array @Wannaburn I envy your work! Best I could get using two A140 diodes, Axis 3 lens, coated PBS, is 1.8 Watt! And these diodes are running in series @ 18V 1.6A!

RGB Laser System in acrylic box

Thanks for that. Now that I think of it you right. I have rather small dichros and @ 45 degrees some of the red is already "missing" the dichro. Maybe I should try a piece of dichro from the A140 c@sio projector?

RGB Laser System in acrylic box

Crap mirrors? Why would you say that? The only reason I changed them was because the standard mirrors were 5x11x0.6mm. I needed the larger 6x11x0.6mm to compensate the larger red and blue beam. Thats why 1 watt was "lost" Anyways herewith two videos: Day test: YouTube - ‪Home built RGB Laser...

    Stupid idea? Focusing several 445s

@Bluefan You do have a good point. Perhaps I shouldn't kill the SDL 808 system. It's still fully operational with red aiming laser etc. Maybe what I should be doing is stripping my redundant 800mw 532 and pumping 10W 808 into it :) The 19 fiber thing is interesting. You saying that these...

a laser light from living biological material

It's GREEN! The most difficult colour to produce with LED/laser technology

    Stupid idea? Focusing several 445s

Don't why I'm even suggesting this. Just something crazy I've thought of while sitting @ work. I've got this 10-15W fiber laser system complete with cooling etc. The laser exists the fiber in the most perfect circle....although not collimated. Now, I know it's a bar type laser that is somehow...

RGB Laser System in acrylic box

Before removing the mirrors I took some new readings: Green 1117mW Red 490mw Blue 910mw TOTAL: 2517 mW The galvo mirror replacement went well, then disastrous, then well, this weekend. Soaked the ends in acetone for several minutes then used a springhook to pull the mirror. First mirror came...

RGB Laser System in acrylic box

6x10mm galvo mirrors arrived today. Hope to install them this weekend and take a video. :) Anyone ever changed galvo mirrors? The current mirrors almost look like they have been soldered onto the shaft. This will no doubt be delicate work. I can only think of using epoxy glue afer removing the...

RGB Laser System in acrylic box

Thanks...I will post pics/vids after the galvo upgrade. Already had some fun and programmed some Scooter music to the projector. The bigger mirrors will definitely slow my galvos down...probably to about 30kPPS ? However, over the many years I found that slightly slower beams with good bounce...

RGB Laser System in acrylic box

Yes, stray beams was a big concern. I took every precaution to make sure the only beam that exits the system is from the galvos. As a licensed laser safety officer, I always comply with the regulations given to me by the Department of Health...no short cuts :)

RGB Laser System in acrylic box

Yes you right. But I have a small aluminium plate on top of the galvos to stop this. Funny, it's always a nice pink beam that hits the ceiling from the red/blue leak. Hopefully the bigger mirrors for the galvos will help solve this. My previous builds were in a metal box. Everyone always...

RGB Laser System in acrylic box

I finally got around this weekend to complete my laser system. Built a box out of clear acrylic. The 10mm thickness proved to be quite the challenge when shaping the holes! It's 98% complete. Just waiting for the larger galvo mirrors to arrive. Should improve the red output. Total powers...

Hi-Power Red LED 12 Watt Build

If blue and green PTs are available, why did C_A_S_I_O go with laser?

Finished my RRGB laser projector - PHOTOS!

Great build! +1 Rep Do you have a LPM? I'm keen to know your loss from the green after going through dichroics and galvos... I have some 40% loss with mine.

Hi-Power Red LED 12 Watt Build

Very NICE!! WOW!!!! I have one one these lying around from my projector. Never thought of powering it. How many watts output @ 8A?

Hard drive platters as bounce mirrors

I didn't notice that with the small distance I was using...but you 100% correct. The fine tracks on the platter should cause a diffraction effect. Something else I never thought about:(

Hard drive platters as bounce mirrors

Those Neodymium magnets are crazy powerful. Caused some injury to my fingers in the past.. I was expecting +-10% loss on the platters.

Hard drive platters as bounce mirrors

I was looking at building a new rig with some bounce mirrors. Because I had a number of old hard drives lying about, thought it would be a great idea to strip them as use them in the rig. Spend Saturday morning stripping 6 hard drives..... Results: Raw 532nm. Distance 20cm: 550mW Bounce of...

Very irresponsible of WL. This is crying eye damage.

    1.6W DHOM Greenie

Gee thanks. Couldn't believe what a little clean could do! Gained 200mw from green, 100mw from red and blue. I think I really need to buy bigger galvo mirrors. I don't mind a sacifice in slower scanning speed. The scanners do 45kpps now. Even if it goes to 25K it will be worth it. Problem is...
