well, i cant find my camera atm... but when i turn the pot all the way up, the laser does not get brighter. and when i turn it all the way down, the laser does not turn off. shouldn't the laser turn off if i set the pot at its lowest? also, i dont have the money to buy another flex, so would a...

    Problem with 445...please help.

Sorry, that's what I meant. I just couldn't find a way to explain other than "diode + and -of the driver." And yes, I'll upload pictures of the driver, and diode raw output. Thanks, Scott

    Problem with 445...please help.

Sorry, shouldve explained better. Sometimes there is some electricity in the driver, so you need to connect the diode + and - of the driver to get rid of that electricity. At least, that's what I've been told.

    Problem with 445...please help.

I've built a few lasers, and have never had this happen. I bought a kit from flaminpyro(excellent work, flamin:)) and, excited to see the blue light, put it together. I didn't rush or anything; i didn't want to make any mistakes. So i shorted the driver, set the current at 1.2 A, put my goggles...

Whats Bettter, green or violet? (200mw)

Could you give us a link to the laser you're buying? Also, since they aren't focusable, the green would burn better in this case, because of the thin beam. Greenies beams are wayyyy thinner. Also, like Toke said, please buy goggles as well. :) they certainly help. Ad your vision is worth more...

Whats Bettter, green or violet? (200mw)

200mW green will be stupid bright, and 200mW violet will burn better. is the green focusable? if so, id go with that one.

O-like has a new 445, it looks slim and nice^^ and fairly cheap. i can vouch for their goggles as well, the white ones. they work very nicely. 1W 445nm blue Laser torch/waterproof/focusable [OL445T-1W] - $189.99 : Welcome to O-Like.com, Your source for laser products

    Ahh, the controversial WL Arctic..

No one has tested the rayfoss, arctic is crap. it is not up to spec, the parts are cheap, as is the anodizing. idk if wicked is improving the quality control, but i dont think they are. you should most certainly build your own, though you need to read a lot. check out the "i want to build a...

GREAT experience with olike. Thanks Susie!

I ordered some batteries quite some time ago, and accidentally gav olike the wrong shipping address. I emailed Susie to try and correct this, and I thought we did, but the package never came. So I then emailed her, and toldher the package never came. Her response? "Please kindly wait, we will...

    Pocket Dust Cover?

oh. haha so that is a home build..hmm. maybe home depot would have some kind of pipe cover or something that would fit that..
  15. Scottyzedinosaur

    Pocket Dust Cover?

Yep, that's why I asked if it was home build or bought. Our clickies don't fit too much other than home builds.

Strange (maybe not?) thing when burning with red.

this happens with any color laser:) works with my PHR, red, and used to work with my IR, before it died. i think it is just a very small spot where the material gets superheated, like Eudaimonium said.

just ordered up some 50mw laser torches, how to they compare to 50mw laser pointers?

Like I said, personal preference. Torches are bigger than pens, have bigger batteries, and have better heatsinking. So, the torch style will have more material, and a lot of torches are focusable, so that adds to the cost. But if you want a pen, you have to change batteries more often, keep a...

just ordered up some 50mw laser torches, how to they compare to 50mw laser pointers?

No, the beam is the same. Jeffreythe00 explained the difference well:) it's just a matter of personal preference, IMO. I like torches, but the next guy might like pens.

just ordered up some 50mw laser torches, how to they compare to 50mw laser pointers?

a pointer is usually a pen-type, and torches look more like flashlights. torches are bigger, and the term torch just sounds cooler:p
