Thanks for setting me straight, haha=p and I've really thought about buying one of jayrobs kits, I will eventually. I like them alot. And you're very right about the bad looking laser being my dissatisfaction:) but I'll build a good one eventually. I have to start somewhere:)

I agree with proto. Im assuming it unscrews in the middle, and has a silver looking tip? If so, try to look inside the laser and see if the circuitbiards bent.

i bought one of their pen pointers, it worked for a while, but was underpowered and eventually died. go to rayfoss.com or o-like.com for better deals, and a tested laser. megalaseruk does have nice looking lasers, though. but i think rayfoss torch lasers are really nice as well, and have better...

its a cheap chinese laser, probably not ir filtered. its what we call "new-wish" style pointers. and im sorry, its probably terribly underpowered. if it cant even pop a balloon, id say its around 30mW. but i could be wrong. about the focus issue, ive never owned one of these style pointers, so...

hey everyone, i recently found an awesome host at home depot, it has everything ready for a laser build, the wires are even sitting right there for you to connect them:) this host would be really great for a diode build...but not a green. ha. it didnt work out AT ALL. the module's wayyyy too...

Oh, and I've focused mine underwater...oops. Haha:p

To be completely honest, I have no idea if greasing the o-ring will make it un-waterproof...but i've taken mine apart countless times, and it's still just as waterproof as it was when I got it:D and nothing falls out when you take of the top.
