    B&W-tech Spectrometer & 473 module: Setup+Mods+Info

    Re: B&Wtech 473nm unit / Spectrometer Mods & Info Paul, those Hydrogen and Mercury Lines are in Angstroms... Shift decimal point one place to the left to convert to nanometers. I edited the above post to add the units... Steve

    B&W-tech Spectrometer & 473 module: Setup+Mods+Info

    Re: B&Wtech 473nm unit / Spectrometer Mods & Info Be real careful, 532.1 has a 1.1 nanometer gain bandwidth and a second weak line about .35 nm longer then the primary at the right edge (longer wavelength) of the spectrum. A good spectrum of a free running DPSS shows TWO lumps close together...

    New Gadget - 355/532/1064 Q-Switched YAG

    Do me a fave, seal her back up and get a dust free desiccant canister near the THG... Trust me on this, cleaning those big crystals is a witch and the solvent used is very very hard to get for amateurs. You need an air puffer with brush (NOT CANNED AIR) to gently blow off any dust that is...

    Feasibility of diode-pumped dye laser (just a thought).

    Ah, but your missing a few things. I did help a PL member get a professionally made ring dye laser lasing with solid state pump, in his case a little less then 4 watts of 532 nm DPSS Green. First of all forget the static cell with no flow. Triplett State happens so fast that to overcome it...

    Stop Suffering -->LPM parts

    J25 is for fast pulsed lasers, just remember it will not see a CW laser in most cases. https://edge.coherent.com/assets/pdf/EnergyMax-Sensors-User-Manual.pdf http://zeus.phys.uconn.edu/wiki/images/Coherent_sensor.pdf Had one at my last employer, really nice Joulemeter head. If you do not...

    1W Laser for Self Defense in an Active Shooter Situation

    More correctly, who is going to pay your legal bills and talk the local prosecutor out of charging you for using an unusual weapon while not fleeing the conflict? Local cops here just lost a civil suit for shooting a felon in the back during an active robbery and partially paralyzing him...

    Stop Suffering -->LPM parts

    I will never knowingly touch the surface of a thermal sensor anyways. I do store them properly in a dustproof environment. Still a good absorber with a reasonably flat spectrum for those who play outside the visible. I hate the 3:1 markup, but still its a viable alternative. Steve

    Stop Suffering -->LPM parts

    I pity the Beaver. No cellulose or plant fiber in a LPM. LOL However the cost of good, thermal, used, LPMs has shot thru the roof in the last year. Due to the merger then buyout of major OEMs in the area, new price has shot up too. Most LPMs I've seen on ebay, well the coating is shot from...

    Stop Suffering -->LPM parts

    Want something a little more professional then a home made absorber?: https://www.thorlabs.com/newgrouppage9.cfm?objectgroup_id=11777 This post brought to you by a laser professional who cringes at some of the home made LPMs he has seen. Granted many hobbyist Peltier based systems are well...

    B&W-tech Spectrometer & 473 module: Setup+Mods+Info

    Re: B&Wtech 473nm unit / Spectrometer Mods & Info As for Raman... I'll see if we have any organic fluids at work with a shift around 1500 and try it. Steve

    B&W-tech Spectrometer & 473 module: Setup+Mods+Info

    Re: B&Wtech 473nm unit / Spectrometer Mods & Info Yes, the beam splitter box for fluorescence and possibly Raman with large Stokes shifts. Many buyers of these are probably tossing it aside, I thought some people would like to know how to use it.. Steve

    B&W-tech Spectrometer & 473 module: Setup+Mods+Info

    Re: B&Wtech 473nm unit / Spectrometer Mods & Info Never mind, I fixed my problem. Figuring out the initial pixel can be a bit tough... Steve

    B&W-tech Spectrometer & 473 module: Setup+Mods+Info

    Re: B&Wtech 473nm unit / Spectrometer Mods & Info If your desperate to make a config file, this is the data for one of my units. Everything except 473 and 561 is referenced to an atomic transition... 473 has at least 1 nanometer of lasing bandwidth and 561 has typically 0.6 nm of lasing...

    B&W-tech Spectrometer & 473 module: Setup+Mods+Info

    Re: B&Wtech 473nm unit / Spectrometer Mods & Info Transmission data in "counts" for BWTEK BRP473 probe assembly when looking at a Tungsten Source: This is black box connected with two fibers when you buy a "Blue Laser With Spectrometer ) assembly on Ebay. This is transmission data off...

    B&W-tech Spectrometer & 473 module: Setup+Mods+Info

    Re: B&Wtech 473nm unit / Spectrometer Mods & Info For those who are wondering about the exact wavelength of the B&W Tek Blue DPSS, I had to do some serious digging in a academic data base. I had seen 472.73 mentioned before as the wavelength for a DPSS Blue.. But I wanted to do some digging...

    1W Laser for Self Defense in an Active Shooter Situation

    Greetings from a older guy with three decades in this business. During that time, I assisted ILDA as a member of ILDA with regards to lasers in airspace, worked with audience scanning lasers for laser shows, and worked for a subcontractor on reviewing a little something for the US Military...

    B&W-tech Spectrometer & 473 module: Setup+Mods+Info

    Re: B&Wtech 473nm unit / Spectrometer Mods & Info The usual reason for the filter is called "Order Sorting" and is used to block spurious responses from the grating as light can fold over from higher order diffraction. The Richardson Grating Handbook goes into great detail on this... Steve
