Payments Stage | GB | New CNC Machined Custom Designed Host for $18

I assume mine was one of few not shipped yesterday? I never got a tracking number, so I was curious.

I also use the AW IMRs from lighthound. They work great for me in all my lasers and vaping devices.

Help with component for 405nm < 1mW laser

Looks like you broke off the inductor. At The very least you'll need a new driver (that's the circuit board).

    Test-load and driver's compatibility

A test load is the best way to determine that the driver is outputing it's maximum. You could just get a fixed current driver already set to the desired current. Theres an Xdrive/Xboost sales thread in the buy/sell/trade section. I got an adjustable test load with convenient measurement pads...

    Test-load and driver's compatibility

A basic test load is a few 1n4001 diodes(plain rectifier) wired in series to a 1ohm resistor. You measure the voltage drop across the resisitor to get the current. The diodes, the number will vary depending on what laser diode you are simulating, should have roughly the same voltage drop as the...

    Test-load and driver's compatibility

No, directly connecting the DMM can damage the driver. There needs to be something there as a load, this is why test loads exist.

    Test-load and driver's compatibility

The adjustment screw is how you set the output current. I think you are asking if you need the test load to measure output current. If so, then yes, you can damage the driver if you power it without a load. Using a test load lets you set the output current without risking damage to the laser diode.

    Test-load and driver's compatibility

A test load simulates a laser diode so you can safely adjust driver current without risking the laser diode. Always use a test load to set the current on an adjustable driver.

532nm 1W pointer is released now

I wonder how much of that 1W is IR....

    3/13 inverted "V" mirror pics

Amazing as always! Very awesome laser grids, now get someone to wiggle through them...

Cheap source for high mJ at super low times?

It's about power density. There's a few threads around about solid state range finder lasers (from M1 tanks i believe). SSY1 I think it's called, 1064nm output that can ionize with proper lens.

    445nm Build Help?

I recently got the same, also off of amazon. Haven't gotten a chance to use yet.

    445nm Build Help?

Any soldering iron would do. With most of mine, I used a cheap 25W from radioshack. If you aren't sure you will be building lots of laser, a cheap 35-40W from home depot or harbor freight would be fine. If you think you might use it alot, may be worth looking into a soldering station.

    Compatable Hosts?

Pretty much any host would work, you would just need a battery contact board to wire the driver to. Certain hosts, like the C6, would be more difficult, but doable.

    Flavor of the Day-Yellow

Insanely awesome, as always Bruce. If I were selling lasers, I would commission you for photos. You make them look so irresistibly s3xy.

    Cubote Laser Review

Any handheld 445/450nm laser is like that. That has nothing to do with the seller.

    coversion crystals?

These are the crystals used in DPSS (diode pumped solid state) lasers. All dpss based lasers use crystals to convert the output of an 808nm diode into a higher wavelength. 532, 589, 594, 607, 473nm are a few of the more commonly known wavelengths that use this process. These have a 2 step...

Searching a laser max $100 for a friend gift!

How about sci-fi lasers? Eitan, TheJoker301 on LPF, is in Israel so fairly close to you. Good prices and a great guy to deal with.
