dissapointed with my 1.5W 445 build's performance. (lots of pics!)

I just got in the parts for a 1.5 watt build consisting of a: 1W 445nm diode brass module with a G-2 coated lens 1 microflexdrive. I assembled them as shown for testing untill they are established in a host: The module's heatsink is a bunch of copper washers silver soldered in a stack, then...

    Questions about 445 2W diodes.

I took a look at your thread and the coin-style-heatsink is pretty ingenius. Do you use a two-part thermal adhesive, like epoxy style? Depending on how much room I have left in my host, I might just turn a big aluminum bulkhead to space the driver/laser from the battery, and heatsink the driver...

    Questions about 445 2W diodes.

So I set the current to max on the flexdrive and the voltage and current will take care of themselves? Makes sense, that drive WAS designed to make our lives easier. :) So at max current setting, do I even need bother adjusting the potentiometer on the front of the board? I have a module with...

    Questions about 445 2W diodes.

HI! New to the forum, I'm starting my third project, a flashlight host, using an 18650 3.6v Li-ion, a single, heavily "heatsunk" microflexdrive, and of course a well established and cooled 445nm 1.7-2W diode. Questions: 1: I have a dummy load consisting of 6 IN4001 diodes and a 10W, 1ohm...

New guy, 10440 300mw red project!

I'm not quite sure how to get any eyes on this post, but I am a beginner and could really use some help! I have a couple basic questions: 1: I ordered an LPC-826 Diode. This is a 250-300mw Long open die diode, correct me if I'm wrong please! 2: I have a brass module ready to recieve the diode...

New guy, 10440 300mw red project!

Thanks Ghostchrome! I explored modwerx a bit and it seems like a pretty solid, low price place to get these components. Just have a couple more questions, Now the lpc-826... Is that a long or short open die (modwerx's picture is a stock photo, and the description says its open die)? I know...

New guy, 10440 300mw red project!

Hi all! New to this forum, first post actually, so I'm gonna just go for it. I'm trying a new project. My host is a RAYZ AAA led penlight. I didn't like the coated finish, so I put it on my "lathe" (a sherline mini-mill with a lathe chuck on the spindle, and a milling vice for a tool holder)...
