I would be much more likley to call the lens discoloration yellowish. It certainly isnt blue. I urdered it for a 445nm diode. It came with a 1W driver board. It came with everything except the diode.

My housing came in the mail today. They said it came with the acrylic lense in it, but they included a coated glass one also. One of them appeared to only have one lense in the threaded holder. The other looked like it had multiple lenses in it. How do I know which is the coated glass lense?

Yeah, thats what the host looks like. It has one of those plastic columnating lenses in the front. The brass part of the module is quite a wayse down in there. I wastrying to push it out from the back to the front so the button diddnt hang on the module.

Hey thank you for the reply. I tell ya I went with the three higher grade lithium batteries. I just added a coolin fan and power switch into the mix. Now Im getting the full 4.2v max at the diode. Thats with full hot batteries of coarse.

I built a 200mw laser pistol. I have a radio shack 2 aaa hobby box holding the batteries. I have room in the gun for one more cell, but the laser is rated at 4.2 v. If I added another cell it would raise the voltage to 4.5. What are the issues involved with over-volting this small of a diod?
