These are not protected. Thus you will have to be careful of over-discharge. You do not really need to be careful of over-charge, since the i4 is smart enough to automatically stop charging. But it is still better if you can keep an eye on it. :)

Yup that's right. Nitecore i4 V2 is very reliable. It have many features including reverse polarity protection. If the battery is place wrongly it will detect and will not charge.

China stuff can be trusted also. Example is TrustFire or UltraFire. Just be careful not to get the fake ones.
