FS: Direct Diode Heatsinks - The 'Chunk' series

Re: DC Big Chunk heat sinks are here ! Thanks for the review Dave, I'm glad you like them!  8-) If anyone has any feedback on the 'sinks, or would like to see some features or hosts added for the next manufacturing lot, pipe up! Otherwise, give one a try and get one on order! You don't know...

FS: Direct Diode Heatsinks - The 'Chunk' series

Re: DC Big Chunk heat sinks are here ! Point taken, but at least with these two hosts, they are flush mounting, therefore we concluded that at flat face with a small radius on the edge would be the best solution. But as Greg said, we'll bear this in mind for future runs... Dan :)

FS: Direct Diode Heatsinks - The 'Chunk' series

Re: DC Big Chunk heat sinks are here ! Guys, Here are a few links to photos of the MXDL 'chunk' in action: There's nothing better than 100% duty cycles! ;) Dan :)

    Krytons Bare!  Closed.

Re: Price DRop!!!  Krytons Bare! Ken, Many many thanks for the barrel. It arrived in the post this afternoon. All I can say is these are awesome, and I can't believe I haven't ordered one sooner! ::) I'd be very interested for another one or two in future. (Drop me an email when you're rockin'...

Hex DIY Red Laser - The ULTIMATE burner idea! :-)

Re: Hex DIY Red Laser - The ULTIMATE burner idea! The project is still alive! Slowly but surely I'm getting there. I had a few personal matters that brought my lasers projects to a standstill, but I've not forgotten about finishing it. I've also purchased some expensive optics (a beam...

Hex DIY Red Laser - The ULTIMATE burner idea! :-)

Re: Hex DIY Red Laser - The ULTIMATE burner idea! I like that too! I'll have to look at getting one of those bare 5mW Green modules from DX. I'd like to stick in a DXTrue30, but I've heard they are very hard to neatly extract. Anyone care to en"lighten" me on this? :D Dan :)

Hex DIY Red Laser - The ULTIMATE burner idea! :-)

Re: Hex DIY Red Laser - The ULTIMATE burner idea! Hi Everyone I'm Back! :D Ohhhhhh yes you can! I used some lenses that my Physics department had lying around, and managed to get, a *roughly* parallel beam out. The lenses used were not the best, (in terms of ratio/distance matchings), and...

Hex DIY Red Laser - The ULTIMATE burner idea! :-)

Re: Hex DIY Red Laser - The ULTIMATE burner idea! OK, first off apologies for not updating this project sooner. I've been busy on the miller and I've made a prototype holder for my diodes. Currently it occupies 7 DX 5mW Diodes, but I will remake the head from aluminium when I can prove the...

    Optics for portable lasers

I could always make you one on my CNC! SenKat and I are in the process of making some custom acrylic holders for his diffraction gratings. Do you live in the UK? Dan :-)

Greg is great! A true gentleman. He was online about an hour ago, but I think I missed him on GTalk. Damm timezones! Dan :-)

Hex DIY Red Laser - The ULTIMATE burner idea! :-)

Re: Hex DIY Red Laser - The ULTIMATE burner idea! @ Danq: Thanks! That one has a much bigger workspace :) Yep, I'm going to unscrew the heads of the DX/Aixiz modules and use the threads + collimating lens assemblies pushed into a bigger block of aluminium. Then mount the diodes in a cluster...

Hex DIY Red Laser - The ULTIMATE burner idea! :-)

Re: Hex DIY Red Laser - The ULTIMATE burner idea! Danq, I used this site: http://webphysics.davidson.edu/physlet_resources/dav_optics/Examples/optics_bench.html Basic, but easy to visualise setups. Update: I've contacted Edmund Optics, and spoke to one of their tech guys and they suggestion...

WTB blu-ray laser or diode from EUROPE only

What's wrong with ordering from the US? I'm in the UK and I've not had a parcel stopped by customs yet. Most people mark on the CN22 form as LED's or something I think.

Hex DIY Red Laser - The ULTIMATE burner idea! :-)

Re: Hex DIY Red Laser - The ULTIMATE burner idea! @DanQ: Oh.... I see! I should have read you post more thoroughly to begin with. Sorry. A demo would be cool! I've got 6 DX 5mW modules on order. They shipped yesterday, so in about a week or 2 I can do a mockup too. I bought them primarily for...

how to i clean scratches off aixiz lens?

I'm sure I read somewhere that Aixiz sell the lenses and parts separately. You're best just emailing them! Perhaps they'll sell you a bag of 10 for a few dollars or so.

Super Ultra Mega Post of Optics Information :D

I also have some chapters I can scan in (for the Physics geeks ;D) from a book: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Optics-International-Eugene-Hecht/dp/0321188780/ref=pd_bbs_sr_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1199397224&sr=8-1 I borrowed it from my physics teacher for info combining beams (for the Hex project). It...
