If you plan on machining some heatsinks yourself; make sure you buy 6083 (or 6061) alloy, preferably T6 grade. As this is best suited to machining, gives good strength and has good thermal conductivity.

Re: DC Big Chunk heat sinks are here ! Thanks Mario, I'll strongly look into that on the next design revision, as I've heard that mentioned more than once. They are flush mounted, with the face of the MXDL or Dorcy though, so I may have to extend them more to add the grooves. Dan :)
