How do I focus this diode to the smallest point?

try adjusting the lens focus until you see the smallest dot size

Looking for: Beginner's Guide to a Simple Laser Pointer, Ideally with a one-stop shop for the related parts

Well the main thing you need to assemble a simple diode laser is just a laser diode (your choice of wavelength and output power), collimating lens+housing and a laser diode driver, you may or may not need a heatsink depending on the diode you use. If you want to assemble a simple DPSS laser, you...

How do I focus this diode to the smallest point?

Multimode diodes like the one that you own arnt to amazing in beam specs, they can’t really be focused down Into as small of a dot as singlemode diodes can

    The spam

She makes multiple accounts I think, I’ve received many pms from different accounts with that exact same message

How much waste heat does a laser diode produce? (Cooling)

As he said, singlemode diodes usually need way less (in some cases no) heat sinking compared to multimode diodes. The strongest singlemode diode I know of is a 900mw 405nm diode but that does produce a lot of heat even though it is a singlemode diode so you still do need a big heatsink for it

How to get the ”Chip” out on ”Laser 301”

I know how to take the Module out of the green DPSS 303/301 pointers, but I’ve never taken out the diode from one of the diode pointers

Olight O-pen Pro's green laser upgrade?

sorry for necroposting, but Ive never heard of a 0.39mw 520nm diode, are you sure it isn’t dpss?

WTB 589nm or 593.5nm DPSS laser for preferably less than $400 (in any condition as long as it lases 589/593.5)

so no one wants to sell one for <$400?, ok ill buy one for >$600

How to get the ”Chip” out on ”Laser 301”

that is called the laser diode

Best green lasers in ≈500-800 mW range

Why are you looking for a class 4 laser? If you arnt planning to use it to burn, what will you use it for? do you want a pointer or a lab style? what wavelength do you want?

what do i need to build a laser

If you want a bright laser that is kinda safe to look at without glasses (the dot on a matte surface), get lasence‘s 18mw 555nm module, it’s about the same brightness as 280mw of 450nm

WTB 589nm or 593.5nm DPSS laser for preferably less than $400 (in any condition as long as it lases 589/593.5)

well i am looking for a 589/593.5nm laser for preferably less than $400, any condition is fine, even if the host is completely damaged, as long as it lases 589/593.5 (even slightly).

    Yellow laser!

not always, companies like lasence sell pretty affordable yellow DPSS ($100 for 8mw) they arnt mass produced as you said so they only make 8-16 modules / 2 months

    Yellow laser!

im sorry but thats the price of yellow lasers, i know its not ideal but they are really expensive (because of how they work) also i dont think you should be buying stuff before you have 20 posts, there might be a cheaper one though depending on the wavelength of yellow you want
  15. S

What is the wattage equivalent for 1W green laser to blue?

in the right conditions, 545 does look (kinda) yellow like 20-40% yellow and 60-80% green

How did I kill my diode?

    Probably

How did I kill my diode?

May have been your bench PSU, it’s not recommended to use a laser diode connected to a bench PSU directly unless yours is very good

    Roithner LaserTechnik RLP-808 (808nm & 100mW)

its a nice laser! looks like a CNI GLP 532 but instead is it 808nm!
  19. S

    450nm 50000mw laser lens size

but that shouldnt happen if the plastic was clear, also the laser isnt 50,000mw, its only 1,500mw
