We’re to buy our favourite silicone wire

I second that question. :D I currently need a source for the slightly larger gauges like 20 AWG.

    Finally making a little progress...

WizardG, are you trying to get the diode as cold as possible before condensation happens or just run it at a specific temperature. It wouldn't be very hard to use an arduino for pwm for the TEC and a thermistor for temperature feedback. That is what I am using for my experiments.

Looking for a UV small laser

Like what Encap was saying, you won't get any UV lasers in a small size without paying $$$$ or getting very lucky on eBay. If it has to be a laser then you would have to settle for 405nm, N2 or air TEA, HeCd, tripled or quadrupled DPSS/YAG, etc. More information about the science project would...

    OSRAM 10mw PLT5 510 515nm Green Laser Diode

I don't think there are any continuous positive boost drivers. The Micro Flexdrive might work with a diode on the input, although it might be a little too high of a Vf for the driver. The max output was 6.26V for my test. The Micro BoostDrive looks like it would work better with the higher Vf...

    NUBM44 Dry Ice Run

TEC efficiency depends on how hard the TEC is run and how much heat is moved. I found a useful peltier calculator that I've been using to test some values for a multi-stage peltier cooled 638nm labby that I am working on.(TEC Calculator)

    Introduction

Welcome to LPF Adam. You have a healthy number of hobbies :D. Looks like your on the right path so just keep on being safe and learning. Enjoy your stay!

    Streamlight Microstream Pen 450nm

Very nice build as usual. The sandblasted focusing ring and custom adapter are a very nice touch.

    495nm Leadlight

Very nice build. I still haven't even pressed my 495nm diode yet. :D. I also want to say that your pen build tutorial is quite useful. I'm right now working on building a 503nm with a leadlight and your tutorial is providing some helpful tips. Although getting electrical isolation between the...

Argon goggles for only Argon lasers?

Short answer: yes. Laser glasses will provide the specified OD protection for the specified wavelength range. So as long as your laser is within that wavelength range, and the OD is high enough for the laser power, then it will work.

    Why HeNe?

Nice. My oldest is my Hughes 3225H-C from 1980. I've looked for HeNe's older than 1980 but didn't find any within my price range. Relating to the original question. Another advantage of HeNe's is that, for 594nm, a dicro can be used to form an extended cavity to lase the 632.8nm and 612nm...

    505nm, 520nm 532nm comparison

Very beautiful comparison pictures. The colors look spot on. I'm looking forward to seeing your ten wavelength laser rainbow pics  . After that you "need" to use 14 wavelengths by adding 445nm, 495nm, 561nm, and 680nm. Now THAT would be an amazing pic. :D

Some new pics about my PLT5 450 laser pointer

Very nice. Looks like brass. Probably infinite duty cycle with a solid host like that. I'd assume it's just to show since it is not in the BST category.

    MT-G2 builds

Sure thing. Just using a smart phone camera for these pictures. The middle picture is with the new XHP70 and my EDC XM-L2 at 1ft from the wall. Should be roughly 4000lm vs 1000lm.

Just finished it! Sure is nice and super bright:D.

Sweet, what drivers are you using?

    MT-G2 builds

Thank you for a very nice tutorial. I am trying this with an C8 that I have, although I'm going to use the XHP70.2 instead of the MT-G2. Just to be sure, the voltage for the zener diode is the usual 5.1V, correct? I'll have to see if my common cheap 18650's will even be able to put out the...

PERMANENT THREAD: Ebay& other internet FINDS of interest- read all the OP please sub

Re: PERMANENT THREAD: Ebay& other internet FINDS of interest- read all the OP please It really isn't that hard to use something like an Arduino Uno to control the ktp and TEC temperatures. That is what I'm doing to control my Half-Note (that I'm still working on), and I am barely a novice with...

PERMANENT THREAD: Ebay& other internet FINDS of interest- read all the OP please sub

Re: PERMANENT THREAD: Ebay& other internet FINDS of interest- read all the OP please So this may not be a super deal, but I'll throw it out there anyway. Looks like a 3W 532nm laser head. To make it work one would need to build something to run the diode, TEC, ktp heater etc. So not...

    Laser host for sale

Just received my one smooth host. It has quite a bit of aluminum so it'll work very well with a higher power diode. I've been wanting a host with a bit more "heft" to it than my krypton grooves for a while. I'd say I'm very happy with it. (Now I just need to get a diode to put in it;)) Thanks...

Addendum to: coming soon leadlight pen

RIP laser diode(s). :( At least it was a lower cost diode. I have a similar setup with a 5mW 635nm laser where the only electrical insulation between the case positive module and negative from the housing casing is a single layer of electrical tape. It won't take much to short it out and kill...
