VI Systems develops novel yellow laser diode emitting at 599 to 605 nm

Here is the link (https://www.laserfocusworld.com/articles/2018/05/vi-systems-develops-novel-yellow-laser-diode-emitting-at-599-to-605-nm.html) Full article at (https://www.osapublishing.org/oe/fulltext.cfm?uri=oe-26-11-13985&id=389714) Nice to see more yellow diode developments.

Just for fun, Lasers in the lowest possible quality :D

I'm surprised you could get it to look as good as it does. How much fog did you have to use to get the beam to show up? The images actually look kinda cool. When I first read the thread title I thought it was going to be about low quality lasers, not low quality images of lasers :D.

    Tesla with laser

Beautiful pics Grainde. I'd think it wouldn't do a whole lot. Even if you use a pulsed laser (Like the SSY-1 or bigger) you're only creating a small point of plasma for a fraction of a second. Maybe if you could get continuous breakdown or a larger area? It would be a fun...

    Suutable driver for LPC-840

I've used a amc7135 driver for my ML101U29 diode in my signature. As long as 350mA or 370mA is OK for you. Just be careful as the amc7135 has a max input voltage of 5.5V IIRC so two Li-ion's will kill it.

    574nm 36 mW Yellow Laser

Does anyone have any new info? I've sent Freeman a message four days ago and he hasn't even read it yet.

    STEAM (STEM+Art/Design)

ev23, Frankly you'll probably find more laser related art over on Photonlexicon than here. Aside from normal shows the only artsy stuff I can think off right now would be Lumia, Brucemir's laser beam photography and Swami's laser petroglyph art. I can't remember who did this at last SELEM but...

    Harbor Freight Tactical light.

I literally laughed out loud at that:crackup:. It's funny because it is so true for HF though. Thanks for posting that BowtieGuy, I needed a good laugh today.

    574nm 36 mW Yellow Laser

I think he may be getting quite a lot of emails from us asking the same few questions. I'd suggest that we continue to post his responses here so that we don't all have to flood him with the same message. I'm getting kind of anxious waiting too. I hope the wait is worth it. Paul, Since...

    574nm 36 mW Yellow Laser

Last I heard from Freeman he thought that they should get them within a few days, of course he said that a few weeks ago also :(. Regarding the orange line in these, am I correct in my understanding that they are only in the 575nm ones. Has anyone been able to spectrometer this orange line yet?

    B&W-tech Spectrometer & 473 module: Setup+Mods+Info

I'm planning on storing the optic cables separate to save on space. I was looking at: Dust cap, silicone SMA, & SMA Ferrule Dust Cap T style. I'm considering getting a bunch, maybe 100 or so and maybe selling the extras. Is there anyone else here who would want some dust caps or is it just me?

    B&W-tech Spectrometer & 473 module: Setup+Mods+Info

I've just finished some wavelength calibration of one spectrometer I have and it seems that the wavelength range for it is lower what I've heard the range to be. I've already removed the baffles and filter, but I have not touched anything else. The uppermost pixel goes to <637nm and the lowest...

    574nm 36 mW Yellow Laser

That's great that yours arrived. I ordered mine from Optlaser on the 23rd I think and just yesterday he said to wait two more days:confused: Odd how yours arrived before mine shipped. At least I know mine should arrive sometime. I've got two of each wavelength coming so that I can use the...

    My Sharp 503nm Build!

Beautiful build! I love the wavelength comparison pictures.

    574nm 36 mW Yellow Laser

Maybe if you used a 5V fan with a voltage regulator one could use a different driver too. What size are the fans?

    574nm 36 mW Yellow Laser

A bunch of us should have ours within a week maybe. And then we should get more information from testing them.

    B&W-tech Spectrometer & 473 module: Setup+Mods+Info

Have any of you guys found where to get some dust covers for the fiber connectors? I've looks around online for a bit but I've only found a few places that have dust covers for SMA-905 fibers. Just don't like storing them unprotected from dust etc. As for the fiber connection on the...

Hello LPF! Better late than never!

Welcome to the forum Matthew. Or at least officially. A 488nm diode laser pointer sounds like a great (re)start.

    Room temperature Orange Laser Diodes

I also receive the Laser Focus World magazines, however I think I have the last four issues unopened in a corner somewhere.:o. AlGaInP is the same material used for most 638nm diodes too. It's nice to see the development of orange/yellow laser diodes, though I think most of us are mostly...

    B&W-tech Spectrometer & 473 module: Setup+Mods+Info

Kecked: Just as a heads up, It is generally considered bad etiquette to double or triple post. Just FIY. I've got a few B&W spectrometers that I would like to re calibrate or align for the rest of the spectrum like <450nm and >650nm. Also I've got a question, is the fan for the CCD detector...
