This will keep you up all night!

It shows an error for me too. I think this is the video though: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s1eMryiU1ro Just looked at his solution video for his parallel LED's puzzle, I am very impressed. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mzDTZuFJYX4 Given the work he did for this circuit I suspect he...

    Convoy S2+ Laser host question

Very nice. So are you just using the DTR 20mm module for heatsinking? How well does it fit in the S2+ host? I'm actually thinking of using the S2+ host myself for my 503nm and 475nm diodes. So how would you describe the color of the green C2+ host? Ie. is it more green or blueish-green.

    DIY laser projector project

Alright, I guess this is way overdue for an update. For the laser drivers I am using the Die4Drive from this schematic: Die4Drive. The only modification that I am making is changing the diode pairs with single zener diodes. For the electrical components I have two voltage regulators using...

    Signature Curious??

I don't really go by color. Usually I look first at the wavelengths that I don't have, so the yellows/oranges or other exotics. Now that the 470nm-520nm gap is closing there are less rare wavelengths in that range.

    Interesting Lab YAG laser (Disassembly)

So I'm curious as to how much one of these lasers might be worth if working? (for considering how much $ it is worth to spend on repairs) So my question to everybody is, What would you pay for a laser like this that is working? (assuming it is 1320nm and 600mW). EDIT: So I opened the reflecting...

    2.6 watt 532nm beam shots

It was actually doing 2.5W with 24A @ 2.2V to the pump diode. I know this because I'm the one who bought it from him:evil:. I still need to get it wired up, running a 2.2V diode at 24A from a 3.3V supply limits the driver. It for sure was bright though.

Survival Laser Labor Day Weekend SALE!!

There seems to be an error with the coupon code. When I entered the code it said "This coupon has expired @ 9/6/2017 12:00:00 AM" ?

    Hey all

Welcome. Hope you enjoy yourself. This may have already been said, but there is a lot of good information in the sticky's at the top of each category of threads. Stay safe and have fun.

    1w 520/2.6w 532/2.8w 520(dual) beam shots

Very nice! I am green with envy . I don't know if you already answered this or but is the 2.6W 532nm lab module? It is odd to think that not too long ago we didn't even have direct diode green.

    Interesting Lab YAG laser (Disassembly)

Without looking at it now, (packed it away for now), I would have to say it is about 2mm x 50mm. It is hard to say without opening up the cavity, which I probably should do sometime just to check the rod and make sure everything looks good.

    Interesting Lab YAG laser (Disassembly)

That's the thing. It is NOT pump by either a flash lamp or a diode. If you look at the last attached image you can see the pumping source. What looks to be a common incandescent halogen light bulb. Although I would say that this bulb has had quite a bit of use. I didn't find very much...

    Interesting Lab YAG laser (Disassembly)

At SELEM I bought this 1987 YAG laser from Alex. I don't think he tested it at all, so really nothing was known about it. It has hose connectors for water cooling and indicates that it should not be run without water flowing. One place selling an almost identical laser lists it as 600mW @...

    WTB <505nm batch diode - SB1573N91, SB1473N91

I got one from Newgazer and Techhood and they were both the ~505nm diode version. I used the best offer on techhood and got it for $30. So if they will still accept that price they would be the cheapest. I can also confirm that both Newgazer and Techhood sent the diode in the identical way and...

Two Beauties on the way from Jordan.

Awesome. I gotta get me a nice >3W blue sometime. I think DTR's diodes are the types that are around 508nm. Hopefully your "505nm" diode is low WL. I still have to build my 505nm diode into something but with mine being case positive I am limited to possible drivers. Make sure to show us...

    SELEM 11 Anyone!?!

I'm going to stay over the week until the eclipse. Maybe we could meet up for the eclipse? Where will you be viewing it from? 10fenny, it will be great to see you there.

    DIY laser projector project

Music wire is actually a subcategory of spring steel. Music wire is high-carbon steel while spring steel's carbon content varies from medium to high. I guess I'll take that as a compliment. It actually wasn't too hard to make the springs. You just have to wind them on a dowel on a drill, then...

    DIY laser projector project

Re: My DIY laser projector project Update: Machined first test diode mount block. 1.5" x 1" x 0.75" Working on winding some extension springs for the mirror and dicro mounts. Using 0.279mm music wire. One guitar-length string gives me about 7 springs. I'll need ten springs minimum.

The quest for yellow, orange semiconductor diodes

I know, right. We'll be so BORED. :cryyy: Honestly thought, even thought the wavelength gaps will decrease over time there still will be smaller wl gaps to close and there still will be things like higher power single or multi mode's or better beam quality. Maybe even eventually semi-tunable...

    505nm and 480nm diode RESULTS

I just tested a second SB157EC9 505nm diode and it gave a reading of 503nm at 110mA. About the same WL shift/mA just 0.5nm longer wavelength than the first one. So far it seems like these SB157EC91's are giving a very consistent 503nm +/- 1nm.
