Hi, It's a different approach, but until I get everything set up I won't know if it will work. My plan is to get it set up and working and then experiment with the correction to get the beam overlap better. (Updated 1st post to show the PCB's) ATB MM.

Hi All, Thanks for the comments Rob. Luxor, I'm using multimode because I wanted to have the laser with an output power that "matched" its size.... I have some ideas to tidy up the beam profile of the red and blue with optics and maybe crop a bit, with the multimodes there is some power to spare...

it says ......Max. Output Power: 2000mw So if it actually outputs anywhere between 1mw and 2000mw, it meets the spec they have written.:eek: ATB MM

Ordered the PCB's so should get these back next week, 4 sets in a small pannel.... hope there's not too many mistakes:eek:. In the meantime, I'll see if I can get the LCD cover machined next week and that just leave the battery tube and "cone driver housing cover" joiner thingi to make. ATB MM

Mr Spider, I thought you and your family had 'big scary laser beam' eyes? If your family hold 2 mirrors each, one for each laser eye (& using your spare legs to stand on), you can knife edge your all of your laser beam eyes into 1 powerful beam. I recon, with a bit of practice, you could also...

Mitsi 300mw red diode arrived today from DTR - very fast shipping - THANKS DTR ! So I now have all the lasers - 150mw Green module, 300mw red / G2 and a M140 for the blue. So power will be green 150 +red 600 + about 800 blue = 1.5w - losses, so should get at least 1W of white :-) Also mirrors...

Hi Jander, I might do that....good idea... but it would eliminate the Z adjustment that the central screw provides in the current config. The screw centres in a small dimple so a BB would sit in there nice. Don't know if I'll need Z adjustment, but its there in case. I intend swapping the cap...

LCD arrived yesterday - I can now finish the design of the optic bay cover now. Tools to mill the underside cover arrived too - now need to snatch a bit of machine time:evil: ATB MM

There are 3 more holes :D on the uderside that will have a grub screw in to lock the module in place. You can see one of them on the 3d model underside view, by the circular recess. They will be hidden by the cover plate that holds the key switch..... ATB MM

I wonder...... how many constant current diode drivers are available commercially and how may constant voltage drivers....then I wonder why there are many more CC diode drivers than CV drivers. :rolleyes: You're reinventing the wheel but ending up with a square wheel.

Hi Arg, you have been there and done it ! ...all I got is a few shiny parts at the moment. The fun (problems) will start when things start geting bolted together...... I'm hoping to have all the mechanical parts made in the next 1-2 weeks. ATB MM
