    A140s inside M140s?

Well ill be damned... Thanks DTR for confirming, I was thinking what the first guy said...

    A140s inside M140s?

Hi all, So I've been selling the diodes in the m140 (company who shall not be named) projector, as M140s, as would seem obvious. When I sold the sixth from last one the other day and the buyer recieved it, he claimed that the diode was in fact A140, and that there were 5 such diodes in every...

    Thin disk lasers

I've heard some very good things about graphene as well. I can't say how it compares to diamond, but good things.

    Selling diodes

    Who's that?

    Selling diodes

Selling m-140 diodes on eBay. Look for stewartrn00 and it should pop up.

That's good, you ought to build this then

    Thin disk lasers

Fibercoupling/combining a ton of 4 watt 940s? Seriously though im sure its easy to get that with fibercoupled stacks. Thats what they do with many pumping things. People with the budgets to back them up dont need to worry about spending a 100 grand on bizarre diodes. As long as they get...

    Thin disk lasers

Anyone here ever build one of these? I saw some stuff on google, figured I'd see if anyone built one of these here and how it worked out for them.

I highly doubt that they will be bored due to that.

Thanks ah that is exactly my point/problem.

That sounds good. Would it be better to be pulsed or cw or quasicw?

Yea sorry that does not sound right. I meant to say that a gas laser is obviously powered by electrical discharge. A solidstate laser is not. Is it better to use flash/arclamp or diode pumping. I get that the are perks to each but which would be best in your opinion. I messed up and mixed up...

    445nm 'handheld' design

Okay then that makes it how many volts ideally? I am unsure what the magic voltage for m140s are. Somewhere between 4-4.5 I'd gues it'd be better to go lower than higher in case something bad happens. If 4 is good then 4*8=32volts. What will do that if that's right

I think that perhaps a cavity mirror setup deal would be a good idea the variable of location/distance and then the output effect, the type of laser to use would be the next question, and again it would be necessary to locate some equipment. I believe there is a spectrometer I could find at...

    445nm 'handheld' design

Any ideas on a driver that would power this. I'm seeing about 14.4amps

What about solid state then, perhaps something like varying dopant level, dopant or anything like that?

Would it be possible to use slightly different mixtures of gases? Then the variables could be concentration of certain gases in the mixture and record/graph changes in output. As for spectrometer/laser power meter, what am I looking at cost wise. I have wanted to get one of each for personal use...

Thanks for all the replies! As for time I have about a full year to do it. If I were to do some form of material burning I could do the experiment in a private area and then record/photograph results. In the case of solidstate and gas what kind of variable would be changed through...

    Science fair

Hello everyone! So I am in high school as you probably could see from profile etc and have been working on building diode lasers and bringing them in to show my AP chem teacher+class and my teacher insists upon me doing some sort of science fair project utilizing laser construction/engineering...

    Lasing mediums

No I was not restricting it to dpss. All mediums are welcome. How's that copper vapor laser work?
