    Hello! Overwhelmed New Member

Where do you live and how old are you? (you said you were too old to point at aircraft). I know idiots that exist in every age group, even retired people like me (but not me)! But the temptation is always there. I'm always worried abut taking my high powered stuff outside and having them...

    G8 Solutions

Yeah that sounds familiar. G9 sounds right. I have a bunch buried with the longer lens assemblies. And definitely agree on the Zeiss cleaners. Also work good on almost everything else.

    G8 Solutions

I seem to remember in the back of my head a longer lens assembly that worked for some particular lenses. They were available from Ebay for a short while. It might have been the g8 but I can't remember for sure. I bought a dozen or so and mounted the lenses I bought from Jordan for super cheap...

    Help identify my HeNe Laser

1 Yes - it depends and 2 Yes If they are a hard seal on the frit (where the glass meets the metal) they can last for decades without being used on a shelf. They also tend to have a very long life span especially if they are allowed to run continuously, or for long periods as opposed to...

Im new to this and I need help!

as was mentioned if you can solder a little bit try here. https://sites.google.com/site/dtrlpf/ You could grab a blue w/driver and lens - then you'd need a host and goggles, a battery and charger. still going to be pushing to get it all for the price, but it could be done.

How to get unkown laser diode to operate

OK so I've posted this before but had to share again. try this: https://www.dropbox.com/s/z4p6w9ysn54ga6u/IMG_0421.JPG?dl=0 All class 4 at a roughly a watt or more. RED, GREEN, BLUE. I also have a 405 version, different mech mod, but not in the pic - all with added voltage meter. EDIT: My...

How to get unkown laser diode to operate

I may do that. I checked a few with a diode tester and figured a few out that way. I'm hoping for a high power red or two that I can use. They came from a grab bag from heruusciences - (9 years ago) I got a bunch of very good stuff from him back in the day. Including a BLM-100 473nm DPSS for...

How to get unkown laser diode to operate

Nice thread, I've got a huge tray of mixed 9mm diodes, mostly IR 808nm diodes, I think, but there may be a high power red in it somewhere. I've been chicken about going through all these. I've had them almost 10yrs now. I'm glad someone else is trying their old stuff too.

    Host for 12mm Module W/ 22mm Heatsink

OK good to know someone can still do these. I wasn't as heavy into the mech mods as you. but close :) I had no idea anyone was still doing the 510 screw on versions. I bought a few of Jordans heatsinks and he referred me to a site that had a larger 510 adapter, it was suggested at the time to...

    Host for 12mm Module W/ 22mm Heatsink

Please explain. Are these different now?

    Host for 12mm Module W/ 22mm Heatsink

If you are talking the 22mm DTR heatsink... There used to be another end to that heatsink that allowed them to be mounted on a vaping mod. However the ends are no longer available, so Jordan (DTR) is getting rid of the remaining heatsinks from that era. If you can find an end and attach it...

(Yet another) First laser thread: LaserGlow <5mW lasers...worth the extra $$$?

there can be a lot, because the pump diode is much much higher than 5mw in order to produce that 5mw.

    Brand new here !

Haven't seen any pics - but if mostly what you have are HeNe lasers then goggles aren't nearly as big a deal as with other kinds of lasers. Most, (keyword "Most") HeNe lasers are relatively safe if you don't look them straight in the eye. Unless its over 3' long you probably won't get over...

But I want a Crystal of XZY for Color ZZZ nm for 10$ on Ebay Or How I learned to Love Commercial Crystals and Hate the Bomb!

Steve, - A little disappointed, considering the title - Here, I thought you'd be referencing Peter Sellers and instead its just lasers. (haha). :)

    Ultraviolet Lasers?

I would think it would have something to do with the strontium aluminate he uses. Pricey stuff.
