Wanna trade, Pacemaker, SVT, COPD, Asthma, Diabetes, Morbid Obese, Housebound. At least I can play with lasers :) We are both high risk for Covid, stay safe. I recommended you to someone looking for a laser on one of the threads. Neil

    Where to buy springboards ?

I agree on mountain electronics/ What I liked is that they also carry 12 mm which are near impossible to find anywhere else, even with drivers. Perfect for using with the Aixiz modules or pen hosts or single aaa

    Budget 1W laser display

Realistically, quality laser projectors are not cheap and you mostly get what you pay for, the Lasercube is on the lower end of the pole. A set of high quality scanners will run more than the Lasercube. (Compact 506 are $1295 list). The scanners are the main part of the laser projector...

Looks like a cool book that might be up our alley, anyone read it?

I bought it more as a fun read about the past history not so much for current information. I'm hoping it will capture attention on the end table next to the devils dictionary and Akira Yoshizawa

Devices that use high power lasers.

You might try used medical equipment also You are more likely to find gas lasers in some of the older (10+ years) medical equipment, but there are some interesting things in some of them also.

Looks like a cool book that might be up our alley, anyone read it?

I'll look it up - (I looked - Holy crap, its expensive - $200) This one just looked more like fun, which is why I. asked. Not any more

Looks like a cool book that might be up our alley, anyone read it?

Saw this book on amazon while looking for the Bill Benner book on laser scanners - its called: Lasers, Death Rays, and the Long, Strange Quest for the Ultimate Weapon I don't have it any was wondering if it had anything that might be interesting or fun...

Wow, I'm only pushing 60 now. This makes make feel like I'm the kid in the room :) But on that note, something only the older ones remember: "Its 10pm do you know where your children are?"

    Wow...."super chiral" laser...

Taking that a step further in etemology. Dexter means from the right and comes from chivalry, with swords and shields. Sinister means from the left, same origin. So if I said I was sinister, it only means I'm left handed.

    Steel host 488nm ~150mW run by 1 x 10440 art pics ;)

I always like the small hosts you do. However, I did have problems with one of them. But they are very nice. This is also a much nicer AAA host than some I've seen.

New laser drivers designed by me.

I would like to chime in, I'm always looking for driver that can be driven off a single battery. So, ditto on much of what was said above.

    Build a $10 burning laser

You are usually better off buying a proper driver from DTR or similar, but do some reading on amc7135 drivers, they will scale in certain applications. It depends on if you need a buck, linear or boost driver and current requirements. I was simply showing the cheapest way to go. A driver will...

$10 Burning Laser pointer 200-300mw 660nm 1 min duty cycle SO you want a cheap burning laser - here it is the least expensive burning laser you can build - only $10 for the parts. BUT, please read this entirely first though! Cost $2.50 Diode. (10x) (Single $3.50)...

The ABSOLUTE Cheapest Proper Diode driver

Fooling around with some old LOC reds and some of the $2.50 reds off Ebay. I didn't want to spend for a pricey driver. SO, here is the minimum AMC7135 driver. It will give 350ma on a 10440 AAA or any single cell rechargeable. It doesn't need heatsink and although the diode will get warm after a...

Whatever happened to revisions of this host?

Back in 2014 there was a great host produced in a group buy. I bought 3 of them and a few others did also. I haven't seen one single laser from this host online. I also haven't seen any revisions or subsequent group buys. They had a massive Copper heatsink and were designed for a single 18650...
