    HUGE CNI Frustrations...

I'm certainly not doing anything until this is resolved... as in, either I have the refund, or the correct laser. I understand they're upset about how this is reputation damaging but, when dealing across countries -- really what other recourse do we have? Once the positive outcome is complete...

    HUGE CNI Frustrations...

Whoa. Okay guys, I actually have to call off the dogs here... Thanks to people writing/calling/etc -- Ava IS now talking to me - a lot, and a bit "urgently": It seems that people talking to CNI on this DID make a big impact. They also know about this thread now. "Please believe that we will...

    FS: Aurora C6 Kits!

whoops. Crap, Moh. Now I feel like a tool for asking in PM. Disregard it, then; I sent that before you posted this, and am sorry about that. I understand. Will likely still be ordering the parts when you're up to selling them again.

    Terminology Definitions

ekeup: In summary -- we don't really use the term 'pill' here much. This seems to be (mostly) a term coined by AwesomeLasers, with their Cobalt series. (It was also common for CB freebanders to use the term 'pill' for a TO-3 canned transistor, which performed a similar function in amplifiers...

    Mitsubishi 500mW 635nm Diode

Heh, I doubt the pictures in the auction are representative, or even of the actual diode in question. :)

Water pump for a Co2 laser

Same here in experimenting with 532's 40w -- I've just been using an aquarium pump. I did get one for a larger aquarium to be on the safe side but it's nothing exotic, and I have it circulating through a high tech device called a bucket. (The laser is RF driven and i've been getting crazy...

    59$ 50mW 450nm Single Mode Pen

It's weird, Phi... Really technically there's only one singlemode 450. But the one you sent me is a little darker and obviously only 15mW or so... So I'm really wondering if maybe there *is* more than one singlemode blue? The one I got from you is certainly singlemode too though.

CNI GB #12 (Fast as we can do it!)

Glenn, -- the last time, to get any response from Ava I had to call her. With Skype its like. 30 cents. She does answer that phone # in her email, and speaks English just fine. She'll likely respond if you do... Or getting on 'livechat' and asking for an update. It's the only way I can EVER get...

    hey santa

Actually, if you read the description, it's not blue-green; it's multiline. (Which does look blue-green when not split.) Nice. 480v though.

    FS: CANON 28mm f/1.8 USM + hood

Arg. If the timing was right, I'd be all over this for my 5DMkII. Unfortunately I can't right now. If for some reason it doesn't sell and is still available later, though, well...

    59$ 50mW 450nm Single Mode Pen

Just got one of these, too. Definitely a bit more blue than the 445s, will spectro it later, I'm guessing 451-452, compared to other known units I have. 47mW says Kenometer and Radiant.

Looking to buy a 589nm laser, need a bit of help though

CNI has been having trouble it seems lately, but it's still really the only place to get a 589 directly. (Anyplace else that sells 589s are just reselling CNI lasers, for the most part.) That said, if money is no object and you want good customer service, go with Laserglow; they sell and support...

CNI GB #12 (Fast as we can do it!)

This is how CNI has been lately...... it's driving me nuts.

Anyone know the wattage/current of the IR diode in a PGL-589-50mW ?

Which is why i always keep my 589s in plastic containers with silica gel now. I should find something that seals tighter though.

    Mohrenberg Driver Order Issues

Moh may not have been communicating with you directly, but if you look at his thread about the drivers/hosts, he's been updating it pretty much daily and letting people know that he's gotten a LOT of orders, and it's taking a little longer. He even suspended new orders --- to make sure he can...

What nice things have you done for others today?

Well, saw this thread a few days back. We've been having a LOT of bad weather here. I live at 8000ft, literally on the top of a mountain. Winding dirt roads in forests, steep grades, etc. A lot of these roads aren't very well travelled, maybe a car every 4 hours or so in the wee hours of the...

Anyone know the wattage/current of the IR diode in a PGL-589-50mW ?

I wish I did have a guess on this... I really want to see ths 589 -- or any 589 -- come back to life. I don't think anyone's repaired one yet.

How do I measure the lumens of a flashlight?

"Lumens", no. Not with a simple meter. It requires a spherical integration meter. These are...rather expensive, and not common. Labsphere : Light Measurement Spheres Complete systems for this, or handheld units, you're talking $3000 and up. Candlepower/candela/foot-candles on the other hand...

ALERT: Bad Selling Experience with "Electron"

Re: Bad Selling Experience with "Electron" NSFW, but germane: link. In any case, it'll be interesting to see what happens when/if (likely when) Electron does receive the item. RHD, it wasn't expedited -- but was it at least trackable or proof-of-delivery?

ALERT: Bad Selling Experience with "Electron"

Re: Bad Selling Experience with "Electron" I've never dealt with Electron, and I want to make it clear that i'm not making any sort of statement on him since I haven't ever dealt with him, but I am making a nod to your statement here in general. I've found in dealing with people in both my...
