Hit in eye with 1000mw 445nm blue laser

I can't speak for anyone else, but I use multi wavelength safety glasses and use lower power lasers for the colors I am not protected from. Eagle Pair® 190-540nm & 800-2000nm Laser Safety Goggles

Yes. SAFETY GOGGLES use the correct goggles for each color laser and don't ever become complacent with lasers. Fix'd :D

    Lasers to recharge UAV's

Well, with that particular uav used in the indoor 48-hour demonstration, it could only run two hours before needing a recharge. So it wouldn't be useful for very long at night without the sun to charge it.

    Lasers to recharge UAV's

I just read about this yesterday and I have to say that I am quite intrigued at the idea and want to know more about the specifics involved in the technology. This is one serious beamtable  Here's a link to the pop mech article: How It Works: Laser Beaming Recharges UAV in Flight -...

Review of the Reke 500RGB Stage Laser Show Projector

Yeah. The one I got from Lasers man is out of alignment. The one I got directly from REKE (>$100 more in cost) is aligned a bit better, but it's still shit alignment compared to most projectors. So, at distances>40 feet the images look crappy. These are cheap for a reason. :-/

UFO? Doubtful. But what DID I see?

Satellites. Same time every night means they are in a consistent orbit. I see them quite a bit with my girlfriend when looking at the stars while camping.

Anyone in orange county with an LPM?

    sure :o

    Why are LPM's so expensive?

Mariomaster is (or was) trying to bring affordable laser power meters to the community, and he is only able to produce a dozen or so every few months and they sell for ~$125: link But, Le Quack, MarioMaster is using quality parts and making it look (and function) professional(ly). Not sure how...

    I'm going to build a 1.8W Laser, I'm AFRAID.

If you were able to handle a 100mW green responsibly, and you own safety glasses for Blue, then 1.8W shouldn't be a problem for you. I assume you are responsible? Also you are aware of the dangers of lasers, right? So just be careful and don't give it to anyone that is careless or very young...

Anyone in orange county with an LPM?

I'm in Long Beach and have two meters (and plenty of free time). I'd be willing to drive to you as Newport is only like 20-30 minutes away from me.

    What's next after REKE500?

Thanks. Yeah. Makes sense, but I wish the sweatshop workers worked a little harder getting the lasers focused and aligned properly before gluing everything in place. :yabbmad: Although, If you get a projector directly from REKE, they offer a 1 year warranty, the shipping back and forth to...

    What's next after REKE500?

I have 2 REKE 500mW's and with the amount of hot-glue in them and having out-of focus lasers and misalignment issues (at distance), I will not be buying another projector from REKE.

    Need help identifying diode

Well if it was a DVD reader (non R/RW), likely a low-power IR. Really good to practice with, but use caution as IR is deceptively dangerous (without precautions).
