my driver isnt giving the right current?

Yes I did, that's how I've gotten the results I have, but with 3 AAA batteries I couldn't get results I needed because it take around 5V to turn on the TTL (or so I've been told)

my driver isnt giving the right current?

I'm sticking with the 9 volt and using a rectifier diode at the end to reduce the volts to a modest 2.8 and keeping the current at 340 (which I found out is the max my diodes should have and it says in the ebay page that operating current is 205, but then it says <340, meaning less than 340, so...

my driver isnt giving the right current?

I tried your advice, just now, and as before with 3AAA no TTL, the board gives no output

    Max volts into red diode?

begin working on one of my projects in the early hours of the morning again
  5. S

my driver isnt giving the right current?

when its not 4:20 am i'll try it again, but I swear it didn't work the first time, if it works I think I'll be able to label myself as crazy

    Max volts into red diode?

I should, but i'm an insomniac, its not my tiredness preventing me from work, its the fact I live with people still and they'll get angry if I do that again. random question: what time is it where you're at?

    Max volts into red diode?

I thought it was messed up before the 9, but no I haven't tried my spare, or the three diodes, with it being 4am I don't feel like soldering would be wise

    Max volts into red diode?

nowhere at all, I have a socket that the laser diode will connect to, and I soldered it then thought, and realized it would go to the not used pin, so its just sitting right now waiting for removal or trimming
  9. S

    Max volts into red diode?

okay, sorry for the wait ignore the green wire, I didn't realize I didn't need it and haven't removed it yet

    Max volts into red diode?

one sec, it says to resize my pictures, theyre too big

    Max volts into red diode?

3 diodes on the test load? why? and I can take a picture, it'll be about 5 minutes
  12. S

    Max volts into red diode?

I turned the pot and watched the current, I don't remember much, but it wasn't doing much when the positive lead wasn't connected to the TTL positive input, the driver wasn't outputting much of anything. that was before I switched to the 9volt
  13. S

    Max volts into red diode?

    4 of them

    Max volts into red diode?

may I ask if you've used a driver that had TTL before and just not used the TTL? is that possible?
  15. S

    Max volts into red diode?

the TTL requires 5Vin just to operate the driver, I could try again at 5Vin and not use TTL, but when I did that I got no mA out the end. i'm measuring current across the resistor in my test load using my multimeter
  16. S

    Max volts into red diode?

Amazon.com: AixiZ 2 pack red and IR laser diode driver 80-500mA w/TTL: Everything Else that's the driver, I set the current by using my test load and set it using the pot on the driver
  17. S

    Max volts into red diode?

okay, so how can I get that lower? i'm running my driver with a 9 volt because 3 AAA's wasn't enough for the TTL and the diode, I was only getting 180 mA, perhaps 7.5ish volts in should solve it?
  18. S

    Max volts into red diode?

the part about 5 diodes was to say I have spares incase I mess up, but the question was legit, I want to know if they'll fry at 3.7 volts if the current is good, or if they'll just suffer from a shortened life. if I don't make sense I apologize, where i'm at its almost 3am
  19. S

    Max volts into red diode?

lol, sorry, i'm tired, I have a single diode, and a driver, but after the driver the voltage is like 3.7, is that too much for a diode?
  20. S

my driver isnt giving the right current?

or I could leave in a rectifier diode and drop .7 volts, but then i'd need to get another one for my dummy load, i'll try 5 AAA
