Sounds like he does something in thin film coatings technology as that was probably a Huge PT target. I have also held a large hunk of platinum (12" x 4" x 1/2") when I was building and maintaining sputter systems. Clean rooms always seem to make expensive things a little more shiny :P

though im curious how it puts an image on the screen. do you think they raster the beam across the screen? or bight they unfocus the diode and send it through a small lcd?

maybe someone in the FDA thought "that would be just too much laser radiation for someone to stare at for long periods of time" lol! ;D anyways i hope something comes of them, im sure computer monitors and gaming would look awsome. Laser printer, meet laser monitor ;)
