i think i found the anwer.. one is IR and the other is the red burner?!?! though which is which?

I have a Philips DVD-RW drive that I harvested for the diodes. Is it common for these drives to have two laser diodes in them? Is one a burning laser and the other is not? How can you tell them apart? The laser diodes have these CHARACTERS on them: Diode #1: 51243HC8C Diode #2: J8H353Z Thanks!

I took apart my DVD RW drive and there are two diodes. I tested one and the polarity is as pictured. Is the other terminal not used or is it ?!?!? Thanks!
