Anyone know the specifications on the Red 650nm LaserShades from Wicked Lasers? What's the range on those? Or do they only block out light at 650nm? Are these good for an open can 20x speed DvD burner diode? Thanks in advance.

Thanks. Is a driver really needed? I know it's supposed to prevent your diode from getting fried by voltage spikes. But how needed is it really?
