    white fusion on plane

Once when I went on a trip they looked at my old Pentax film camera and asked me to take a picture to prove it worked or something. Thing is I don't see how that would prove anything as it's not like we could process the film right there! Maybe they would want you to demonstrate it, to prove...

    Fog machines

Do fog machines leave any residue behind? It seems to me the fog would end up all over everything and with repeated uses could be a mess. I suppose you probably use these in a garage or something.

Is It Safe to look at the laser dot?

I have been planning a purchase of a 100 mW Aries laser for quite a while, but have been holding back partially because I too am concerned about the laser dot danger. I do understand the necessity of goggles and will NOT purchase a laser without proper certified protection, but I do want to be...

Is It Safe to look at the laser dot?

Assuming you have a quality IR filter in your laser the general feeling is that it is ok to look at a 150mW laser dot? I am not surprised that no one comes right out and says it is perfectly safe because maybe it isn't? Not trying to thread-jack, hopefully this helps contribute. :yh:

    ir filter

Yes you still need goggles, the IR filter just means the goggles don't have to filter IR as well.

    Good Glasses?

So these look like a great deal CE certified laser safety goggles 200-540 & 900-1700nm on eBay.ca (item 220549025830 end time 27-Sep-10 23:01:39 EDT) but how do you know they are really CE certified? Has anyone been scammed on the certification before? I don't think I've seen a single post...

    Laser goggles vs laser glasses?

Good questions, I have read at least a couple of accounts of people on the forum who have had stray reflections enter their glasses from strange angles (i.e. beside their nose, or from the side), I even seem to recall someone who said that the laser came in from the side and REFLECTED of the...

    Laserpointerpen Glasses

Does anyone know if these glasses are good? Off 39% Laser Goggles for Green laser and Blue Laser I don't have much faith in the Engrish on the site "able to diffuse reflected light of the widest range of security, while the eagle of the reflected light is also not selection" Anyways...

    Googles for 125mW Green

Well I may have decided on a 125mW Aries from LaserGlow, now I want to be sure I am choosing the best safety goggles. #1 - Lasershades from Wicked Lasers: I've heard these are approx. OD 3 and that they are pretty good for the money. These are not certified that I know of, are they good...

    Having a Tough Time Deciding

Ok, so Laserglow is out of 100 mW Aries so now I have to choose between 75 mW and 125 mW, what would you choose? Is OD 2 really enough for some close burning with 125 mW? What if I were to burn for a few hours? thanks!

    Having a Tough Time Deciding

goninanbl00d, I have considered O-Like, but I don't know if O-like has IR filters in their lasers and I would like one, also I would like 100% duty cycle. I think I'll probably save a bit more and get the Aries. I keep changing my mind between 50 mW and 100 mW. If I got 50 mW I could use a...

    Having a Tough Time Deciding

I think it now comes down to choosing between burning and safe dot viewing. For safe dot viewing, if there really is such a thing, this is what I will do: carefully shine the stabilized laser at my wall while viewing it from a distance >3 feet, In effect using the laser as a "pointer" with a...

    Having a Tough Time Deciding

It is too bad Laserglow only offers OD 2 or OD 7 goggles, I imagine with the OD 7 googles the dot will be invisible from a 100 mW laser? I can always get goggles elsewhere that are OD 4, I will have to check OEM. Wickedlasers also offer OD 2 Lasershields - both companies offer you OD 2 goggles...

    Having a Tough Time Deciding

I am probably going to be using this laser inside most frequently and I understand completely about stray reflections, shiny surfaces etc. and will be extremely carefull to never shine near any of these things. If I am very carefull what is the max mW dot I can safely observe on a matte...

    Having a Tough Time Deciding

That looks like a good laser, do you know if it has an IR filter or what the duty cycle is? I cannot seem to find that information on their website. In the end I have a good feeling about the Aries I just don't like the price. Thanks.
