BluRay any chance of taking a look at my dead module? I have a feeling that the driver is responsible. It heated up way to quickly when I first got the module and just now when i was looking at its complete deadness again slightly unscrewing the back made it flutter into a dim glow for a second...

Brand new Energizer 9v, max run time would have been 20 seconds (the module gets warm fairly quickly)

Houston we have a problem, received my module today and it seems to have died :'( It seems that my module has kicked the bucket after a few minutes of use, its output is now extremely dim. Any ideas?

Has mine been shipped yet? I've still got to machine up an adapter for my flashlight first.

That must really suck, tis the nature of the beast though :( At least if mine goes tits up I would have to wait weeks for postage there and back :)

Hot tip: Don't buy the carbide tools in my photo, they are not really designed for small lathes. They are designed for fast turning on bigger lathes, using them at the wrong speed will just fuck the tips. Great for doing lots of small passes to remove metal quickly but your better off buying...

I own a 7x12 mini lathe, picked it up off eBay brand new for $300AUD (a fucking steal). It's fairly decent for its size but a quick change toolpost, tail stock chuck and a quality set of tooling is a must. It can do anything a full sized lathe can do normally, just don't expect it to cut large...
