I'm looking for a power supply brick for a He-Ne tube, as the one i was using has burnt out.
Looked on eBay & found nothing here in the UK, only a couple of complete head/PSU systems in the USA.
Anybody know where i can get a PSU? Pref 12v input
Thanks in advance

Think i'll try using a microscope to look where the bonding wires are going on the dies... Luckily the front of the diode packages has a very big window...
the laser diodes, monitor photodiodes & the pickup photodiode array are all in one package in these sleds with about 20 pins., i know they're low powered, but still will be useful for a red pointer or something. :-)
Hey. I have some PS2 sleds with their laser diode & photodiode array integrated into one package, anyone know a method to reliably determine the pinout of these devices?
thanks dude, i think the LM317 driver's problem is due to the fact that the output voltage is only 1.25v in constant current mode, i will look into the rkcstr drivers.
Hey everyone, i'm after a laser diode driver that i can use to test virtually any laser diode from a DVD or CD burner, i have tried an LM317 constant current based design, but don't seem to be having any luck with those. Can anyone recommend a circuit that i can build myself?
It's idiotic people who shine these things at pilots that cause all these problems. (I know this has been said before). Lasers classified as weapons? OMFG! :'(
Looks very interesting, maybe i can stop shielding my eyes from now on ;) I'm wondering if they can build a mirror into the chip could the manufacturer's build beam correction optics into a diode as well?
thanks peeps, i know what NIR stands for lol, & i have discovered i need a fast axis collimator to correct this, i will give the old telescope optics trick a try however, as i cannot afford such a complex bit of optics at the moment
Cheers for the warm welcome, I do know quite a lot about many different types of laser, I'm into the set-fire-to-things types atm ;D, but I do own many different ones. I was thinking of building a laser scanner, will take a look at that site.
Hi I have built a 600mW 808nm IR laser, the diode itself is a TO-3 open can type, but a simple laser pointer type lens just collimates the beam to a diverging line, what other optics do i require to correct this?
