Thanks man! I should have it finished tomorrow :) I'm just scared about removing the lens from the metal cage and damaging it.

I got my driver adhered to my heatsink now, and soldered everything up and tested without the lens on. It works great (see last pic)! I'm just waiting for the alcohol to soften up the glue on the lens right now before final assembly. :)

These are probably newb questions, but I just got my diode in the mail today and I'm baffled at what goes where and how far things are supposed to thread in. How far in is the smaller inner brass cylinder supposed to screw into the larger one? Also, where exactly is my stock lens supposed to...

Ordered my 445nm 9mm diode/module from DTR yesterday with the stock lens and lens holder :) This is going to be great!

I guess it boils down to if the 3 element lens will be able to burn cardboard tubes. I plan to use it in the wind to start fires on trips.

If a 3 element is the best setup, then that's what I'll buy from DTR. There's no disadvantage to a 3 element, correct? Edit: this is exactly what I need, correct?
