Whats the minimum mW/nm to see colored beams for green pens during the day, or in a room with light on, and how about when its dark?

I just thought they were cool, as you can see the actual beam of the laser. Besides burning things and making them to see how powerful you can make them, what do you use/make lasers for? I think they're like a zippo or a butterfly knife.. something that's interesting just because. ;)

Thanks. I'll look into Red and Violet lasers. I'm more into the pen type than the flashlight type though. :P

After I've seen a youtube video where you can "Mod" a useless, 'point at teacher when he's not looking' toy into something you can heat stuff up with I started to become fascinated with laser pointers... then.. i read Dealextreme's disclaimer of them not shipping to the US i gave up hope... but...
