Lava Micro FlexDrive Driver (lavadrive2) fits pens

Re: Lava Micro FlexDrive Driver (lavadrive2) fits Hey lava i've used two of these drivers for blu-rays and they have been fantastic... I was wondering what your thoughts are on using the lavadrive to drive a cree xp-e led at 700ma. The forward voltage of said LED is 3.4V thanks :)

Focal length of AixiZ acrylic lens?

I've always wanted to try pull out the lens from one of my many spare microscope objectives... but they seem to be factory moulded in there so i'm having a bit of trouble... anyone tried to take out the nice lenses from a microscope objective?

    Eye damage?

You should consider going to your optometrist and getting a retinal photograph and a visual fields test :) this would be the only real way to tell if you indeed did cause a bit of damage and now have a positive scotoma which your brain is "filling in"

    Strange Things About Blu-Ray (405nm)

Hi there, great write up! you said that you use an 11mw pointer for lectures? does that still need the 2 minute duty cycle rule applied to it? If I want to run by blu-ray for 10 minutes at a time should i only crank it up to 5mw? or can I go higher?

    Solderless Connections, Anyone Tried?

You could always use sockets? like the ones from thorlabs.... although a bit pricey thorlabs. com/NewGroupPage9.cfm?ObjectGroup_ID=302 (oh i'm not allowed to post links yet hmm) I use the SR9a holders in my lab screwed into a collimation tube. Worth it for the peace of mind i guess...
