Looking for a flashlight battery to replace AAA's

Thanks for the responses. 18650 & 18500 are a tad longer than was I was hoping for. I think I found one that might work - 18350 is short enough, and the 18 mm diameter is good, but it is 3.7 volt, 1500 mAh. Will one 18350 battery be sufficient enough to power a flashlight that is meant to use 3...

Looking for a flashlight battery to replace AAA's

I recently bought a 12 LED flashlight that takes 3 AAA batteries. You install the batteries by placing them into a cylindrical battery case, and slide that into the flashlight casing. What I would like to do is use one short battery (about 34mm or less in length, and about 24mm or less in...

    Could I borrow a laser?

"As a group, LPF tends to be rather skeptical and very safety paranoid." Sounds like quite a group! Personally, I'm allergic to group mentalities. "So when someone comes asking to borrow a laser... it just doesn't pass the smell test... not without extra details. " "So when someone comes...

    Could I borrow a laser?

I didn't know my question was going to illicit such responses! I am planning on demonstrating how sound can travel distances with a laser beam as its carrier. I am going to use a red 5mw laser for that part. I was hoping to make my intro stand out by using a burning laser to light a piece of...

    Could I borrow a laser?

I'd be surprised if I got any takers, but I thought I'd ask anyways. Here it goes: I am taking a speech class this semester, and would like to use a burning 405nm laser for my upcoming demonstration speech. I was going to use my PHR-803T laser, but it died on me recently. So my question is...

    PHR-803T 405nm Laser for Sale

I'm selling my PHR-803T laser. Puts out somewhere around 100mw. Burns matches, balloons etc. The PHR-803T diode is in a Aixiz module with glass lens and Rkcstr driver. I have it on a 9 volt battery, and works great. I have turned it on very little, and each time has been for 20 seconds or less...

Sell me your 405nm (violet/purple) laser

I have a 405nm laser that is ~ 100mw. The PHR-803T diode is in a Aixiz module with glass lens and Rkcstr driver. I have it on a 9 volt battery, and works great. I have turned it on very little, and each time has been for 20 seconds or less, so there should be a lot of life left in her. I have it...

    Laser/Magnetic Field Question

Would anything happen to the beam of a 150mw 405nm laser if it is pointed into the hole of a doughnut-shaped coil that is producing a magnetic field of about 900 Gauss? Would the beam be affected, and if so, how? Thanks in advance, Tim

Halloween is Approaching! Questions about 5mw Green

Thanks everyone for the comments/suggestions. I also have a red 5mw that I could use while the green cools down. I have only used these for very short duty cycles (10-45 seconds), and didn't know for how long they could be pushed. The kids will be at least 15 feet away from the mirror, the...

Halloween is Approaching! Questions about 5mw Green

Hi all, This Halloween, I would like to create a vortex/tunnel in the garage for the kids to see. I would be using a 5mw pen from eBay that I just bought. A fog machine would be used to help with the effect. My questions are: 1. Can the 5mw green eBay pens run continuously for 1.5 hours? I'm...

    Help purchasing a BRD laser

Hey Alan, If 200-300 mw is what you're looking for, then the PHR-803T isn't a good choice. That diode would die too soon at that power range. If I were you, I'd go with either the GGW-H20L for 200-250 mw, and if you need to go higher, then a 8x diode. Just my 2 cents. :)

    HighTechDealZ Down?

Hopefully, Kendall will get his site fixed and up and running soon. I've bought from him a couple times within the past few months, and I've got nothing but respect for the guy.:)

    Analog drivers.

If I were in your shoes, I would go with Dr. Lava's FlexMod. You can find it here: http://hacylon.case.edu/ebay/laser_diode/FlexMod01.php. Hope this helps
