I never even thought I might not have it set in there properly...I used a diode press tool and it seemed to click into place. I didn't want to push too hard as I was afraid to break the diode. How much force can these bad boys take for next time I make one of these? Should I just keep forcing...
I know this thread is old but I can't find anything else around on it even though there are supposedly threads on this issue. There has to be a better way other than gluing the focus adapter on with some room in there...
That was my issue...the focus knob gets in the way. When I take the knob off I can focus it to a point nice and close to my laser for burning, and I can screw it out to have it focused nicely. I can't, however, do it with the knob on.
Is there an easy fix for this? I think I saw somewhere...
Re: 1.2W Blue-Ice Lasers $120 shipped (Now available as $50 JAD KIT)
I'm incredibly interested in this whole switchable laser idea. I'd love to know more about that and/or how to add such a function into other builds
I was told it reads and records br, hddvd, dvd, and cd...however I'm not seeing anything on it either which is why I'm asking. I'm getting the feeling it doesn't record and I was lied to :P
I found someone local with a broken Sony BDP-BX18 player/recorder. I'd like to buy it off him but I can't seem to find any information on what diodes come in that sled. I'd love to know what diodes I'd be getting from it so I know if it's worth what he's asking.
Sorry to answer my own question but I figured this out and want to pass this information on to any other newbies out there who might not understand the simplicity of this...Lasers focused to infinity are NOT lasers focused to burn something 1 foot in front of the laser...I fiddle around with the...
Now that is interesting. As I approach the dot, the "ring" around the dot shrinks. I guess that ring I was seeing is basically an illusion created by the 405 wavelength...love it.
Now my issue is burning power. I was of the understanding that 405 is the best visible wavelength for burning...
No I haven't tried this yet mainly because I'm retarded and don't have glasses yet. In fact if anyone know of cheap effective ones for 405, or 405, 445, 532 multi would be nice as well, I'd love to know.
I've only used my laser in very small amounts because I don't have glasses yet. If I take...
So that would explain any fuzziness in the dot and whatnot, but what about divergence. How do you improve the divergence on your builds? Would I just buy a "nicer" lens? Does quality of the lens alone improve the quality of the beam? If so could anyone suggest a good lens for a 405 build?
So I just finished my first build (hooray). Successfully with no broken diodes and I'm now the proud owner of a pen style PHR 805 build. Problem is my beam and dot is less than desirable.
I fiddled around a bit with the lens and got it to focus. It even focuses beyond the best point so I...
I wish it were that simple...that being said it was kinda need to see what does happen with the lens in backwards. It's pretty cool that I can basically make this thing a flashlight. Also I noticed when I did that and looked at the 1-2 foot circle it produced that it was dirty? Kinda looked...
Sorry for answering my own question here but I figured it out...the batteries I got had just a hair of plastic sticking over the negative side and thus were not connecting to the host. I inserted a small earth magnet onto the neg side of the battery and we're back in business...can't seem to...
Sure hoping one of you guys can help me...I got my first build all soldered up and nothing...
So I check each connection to see where the issue was. Finally I connected the negative side of the batteries to the aixiz module and voila! Beautiful purple light!...
so the next step was put on the...
