Sorry can you clarify what has happened when trying to contact the seller? Is the do not buy recommendation based on him continuing to sell >1mw pointers on ebay even though he has been reported several times? I think I will hold off on buying this for the moment... looks like what I suspected...

Sorry to clarify: this particular unit (with the 3W diode) is a 725mw model... however he also can produce a 1000mw unit, but not sure what diode that one uses. Does 725mw sound pretty close for a 3W diode?

yes it is possible it could get confiscated, although I do have approval to own one and I know that they only check/open a small percentage of packages.... I am kind of thinking its worth the risk.

well that ebay seller can apparently provide output data for that unit which is 700mw.... then he also can produce a 1 watt. Guess we will see what Murudai comes up with.
