FAA: Laser incidents soar, threaten planes

Think about beam divergence and how high up the airplanes are. While the laser may seem like a small dot at short distances, I'm sure you don't have to point the laser directly at the cockpit to affect the pilot's vision. I'm sure most 12 year old punks don't have the funds to buy the higher...

FAA: Laser incidents soar, threaten planes

FAA: Laser incidents soar, threaten planes - Travel - News - msnbc.com It seems that incidents involving lasers being shined at airplanes are on the rise with the proliferation of more powerful lasers. Increased regulations are sure to follow. Thanks to all the idiots that are messing it up...

    Cool Knife.

Traveller, You've got some great looking knives there. My Benchmade Rift is not as nice as yours. I have number 185 out of 200. I do buy my knives online. My preferred site is Shop for case knives, Kershaw and other discount knives at Knifeworks.com . I have been buying from them for...

    Cool Knife.

Traveller is pretty much right about anything goes in Florida. You can carry a folding knife as long as it is 4 inches or less. I have a concealed weapons permit so I can carry auto knives as well. In all honesty, I prefer manual opening knives since the auto knives tend to want to flip out...

If You've Actually Received Your Spyder III Arctic - Post Here

Thanks for the info. I think I'll leave it alone for now. I'm afraid I'll void the warrenty on the darn thing. It took me long enough to get it!

If You've Actually Received Your Spyder III Arctic - Post Here

I finally got mine last week. I ended up getting the G2 with the "smart switch". While I like the fact most people won't be able to just pick it up and use it, it is a bit of a pain to turn on. I wish they left the button as an instant on/off switch and used a key switch at the tail cap...

Any target shooters / Firearms collectors?

If you guys think .50 AE out of a Desert Eagle is viscious, you should try the .500 S&W or a .454 Casull. You don't have the weight or the gas operated recoil system of the Desert Eagle to tame things down. I was offered a go at the range and I must say WOW! The recoil is intense, especially...

Any target shooters / Firearms collectors?

I'm also a shooter and have a concealed weapons permit. Be careful Gooey Gus, It is a far more expensive hobby than lasers can be. My gun collection is easily worth over $12,000. Ammo is pretty expensive these days (much more so than batteries anyway). rangedunits, you will hardly ever see...

Girlfriend's dad looking for green laser for his gun?

ossumguywill already mentioned some good points. Bad stuff happens. You can see examples of it just by turning on the news. Having a gun gives you the ability to defend yourself. There are plenty of guns in the United States and even if gun were illegal, criminals would be able to get them...

    Green laser questions -- newbie

I'm a noobie myself, but welcome to the forum. The ones on DinoDirect look pretty good, but I don't have any experience with them. I can tell you to stay away from Cheaptronics4u - Great Electronics at Great Prices . They claim to have a 200mW 532 nm (green) laser for under $50. It is...

Girlfriend's dad looking for green laser for his gun?

hakzaw1, That's freaking hilarious. Not very smart... but freaking hillarious. Next time find a better place for her to practice her "hand-writing". Just be glad you're not going out with Mikeeey's girl. Her dad might shoot the "writing utensi"l out of her hand.

Girlfriend's dad looking for green laser for his gun?

The back of your Benjamin almost looks like a Ruger MK II. Why did you mount the laser on top? Is there a plave to mount it up there? I would probably mount it under the barrel so I could use the sights as well. Under the barrel also compensates slightly for gravity.

Girlfriend's dad looking for green laser for his gun?

You wouldn't need an expensive laser for a pellet gun. Even the high powered spring piston ones don't have much recoil.

Girlfriend's dad looking for green laser for his gun?

Sorry for the stupid question, but are green laser that much more susceptible to shock compared to red lasers? I has a LaserMax guide rod laser for my Glock 26 and I can't see a laser taking any more shock than that (or heat for that matter). For those who are not into guns, the guide rod...
