Burning cigarette ash fell into the lens, first time it's happened in over 200 cigarettes. I just wasn't being careful :p

Same thing happened to my Spartan, except the batteries became "loose" inside and would cause a lack of connection without some kind of conductive material placed in between the batteries the length of the batteries inside the housing. The laser got weak for me as well, but then it returned to...

So now my Spartan has this problem of "flashing/pulsing" for about 30 seconds before it outputs continuously, but the output is not as strong as it used to be. About one or two minutes after that it then gets brighter and outputs like when i first got it. I think i'm going to have to send it...

Nope, the lifepo4 re-chargeables where working great (i could burn through anything) when i got the laser. I'll get some tomorrow and test to see if it's the laser or the batteries. I've noticed after some playing around with it, that it takes about a minute to heat up and then in jumps in brightness where it then can burn through the toilet paper roll. The less-than-max brightness is still bright though, stings skin and lightly burns the roll (without burning through)...

Hmm my spartan can't even burn through a pen-blackend toilet roll of paper no matter how long it sits there... Maybe mine is underpowered? I have noticed that when i turn it on it pulses for a few seconds until it goes into it's normal fast-pulse mode. I wish i had a LPM :p

Be careful when chasing the fly around because you may be paying to much attention to the fly and not enough to whatever you may be hitting in the background ;p

The pulsing of the 445nm diode in my Spartan is pretty interesting as it's something i haven't seen before. Why do the diodes do this? What causes them to do this and about how many times does it pulse/flash per second?

I have also noticed that the beam seems to expand from a nice line into a square after a few minutes. Is this also typical? The smoking seems to have stopped, but there is still a faint smell of it. (Whatever material that was smoking probably burnt itself off by now..) EDIT #1: The smoking...
