I just measured the voltage... It was 7.1 something, then it dropped fast to 3.x 2.x When i touched it battery was VERY hot. I think the battery killed the laser

They will replace it with a new one. How can i prevent this from happening again? The seller says: "I guessed you used wrong battery or wrong direction" Should i buy a new battery?

I'll ask for a replace or refund... If the don't i just throw it away i guess. I'm not that techy with resistors and diodes etc.. :(
