ive seen a bunch of DIY lasers but do they build the laser from scratch or do they take the laser out of a dvd drive and add a power suupply, heatsink etc......?

I'm not sure your reason but you can attract lighning by sending up a model rocket with a thin wire attached...I've seen it done

Well yes I'm young ( rather not say) If there is one thing I want to do it is to build a laser scanner from a low power blue laser for my room. Sadly I can't afford the Galvos or a good laser :( but in a few years I might be able too ( sooner if I'm lucky)
