FS: A150 Laser (Solarforce host), A140 diode

Perhaps (un)fortunately my school laptop circa 2006 seems to be on its last leg and is in need of replacement. I've gotta raise funds, so here's what I've got to offer: 1. 445nm laser in 1x18650 host - $225.00 I made this laser using one of DTR's first A150 diodes, dual v5 flexdrives, and...

    Planning DIY TPS63000 based driver

I used Sunstone. They had pretty decent capabilities, and since they round up anyting smaller than 1"x1" for pricing I pannelized so I could get more for my money.

    Planning DIY TPS63000 based driver

I got the boards in for my TPS63020 design the other day, but as usual Mouser was out of a certain TI IC until a few hours ago. I wasn't expecting the boards to come in so soon anyways. :banghead: jib77, I can send you one of the pannelized boards if you're interested.

New Niche Driver Market with No Supply

Here's what I got after fooling around on eagle for a few days. Can anyone spot any errors or omissions in the schematic I posted or in this layout? It is .551in by .551in Also, how is the service from Sunstone (PCB123)? I made this layout with their ValueProto design rules in mind.

    XJ-A150 News

I personally think this is more of a DIY hobby; as such, knowledge should be freely shared to improve the hobby. I'll be glad to see all of the speculation put to rest. As DTR demonstrated, it isn't that hard to take a picture and even post it from his work. Something the first thread was...

New Niche Driver Market with No Supply

Got the parts down to about a .60*.64 inch (15*16 mm) board. What's a good board size to aim for? The micro flexdrive is 9*12 mm but I doubt I could do anything that small with so many external parts. So far I removed the headers to break out the enable pin and power save mode since it won't...

New Niche Driver Market with No Supply

This is something I was working on until I decided that it might be better to go with a buck driver instead of forcing the poor batteries to higher and higher currents. I started to lay out a board, but haven't had much time or motivation to finish. I don't know if everything works as I...

    12x Murder Fund! + Graph!

Re: 12x Murder Fund! (Complete!) Since we can't really use a peltier in a typical flashlight style unit, it doesn't really make sense to use one since most hosts have limited passive heat sinking capability.

    8X Diode Murder fund

Attack of the disappearing attachments. As far as a current setting for the next diode, my uneducated guess would probably be about a 10% increase.

    FAP800 Question

As far as the vicor module goes; yes, it is possible. This document posted on their site describes how. I'm sure the same principle could be applied to the TI module using its remote sense lines.

    FAP800 Question

Vicor also makes DC-DC converters that might be applicable to powering these high amperage diodes off of 12v-24v. I saw something on PhotonLexicon about using them, and supposedly Dr. Lava was tinkering with it as well. Edit: iirc, the 24v to 5v maxi converter is capable of 80 amps and has an...
