I am looking at ether a RPL or PPL from Optotronics. Where did the design of these types of lasers come from? It seems like everyone is making a baton style laser and prices fluctuate wildly. What makes a Optotronics so much better then say a DX? Also, are Optotronics lasers manufactured in the US?

I purchased a MXDL Open Can Laser with Meredith Acrylic, 115D diode, and Flex Drive set at 448mA. It lights matches and pops balloons...knew it would. What I wanted to review was the quality of his build and his customer service. Jayrob was very quick to answer questions I had and when I ordered...

You missed my point....I did not ask if laser pointers should be banned, just at what point do you think they will be in countries like the US. Sorry if I wasn't clear enough....

Except for the Brits and the Australians who seem to be unable not to shine lasers at planes etc :D, what do you think the cutoff point will be when LP's get banned in the US and other places? I mean some of these lasers pointers are getting downright dangerous with 1W IR lasers coming to mind...
